Happy Easter!! A proposal!!

Anne with Dale after Anything GoesHi everyone!! This is going to be a wee quickie of a blog! Along with wishing you all a very lovely and happy Easter, I have a question.

As I was settling down to blog, I was reflecting over the events of of the last few weeks. Mother's Day was just great. One of the best in fact! And I am getting one of my cards laminated believe it or not, as I have to say, some of the nicest words anyone has ever written to me were by my middle son Phil (even Danny had a lump in his throat reading it, and that's saying something!!).

Saint Patrick's Day is what I want to concentrate on though! No, not for the wild parties, but it's a special anniversary for me. Indeed 17th March was the day Danny proposed all those years ago. Not at all planned and completely sober I hasten to add! (That means both of us by the way!)! It was quite unexpected as I only agreed to go out with him 5 weeks earlier on the condition that we took things slowly!!!

We were married a few months later on the August bank holiday!!!!! Me? Impulsive? Nah! Never!! My question to you all is… What was your proposal like? A quick line will do. Was it planned? Where did it take place? Did they get down on one knee? (And that includes ladies also). Were there any hiccups? Maybe it's not your own story, but something that happened to someone you know? Do write a let me know.

In the meantime I do hope the Easter bunny hops by your place over the weekend. Have fun and take care. Anne x

Ps. Do you like the photo of me and the QVC silver fox? It was taken just after our penultimate "Anything Goes" show on Saturday. End of an era 🙁

My proposal was 27 years ago this July and was made on one knee in the middle of the Earls Court Arena, (Royal Tournament week), right down on the ‘tan’. It was very romantic and unexpected.

    Hello Anne
My husband proposed the first time we met (until then we’d only exchanged letters and chatted on the phone as we lived 250 miles apart!). He got down on one knee as we looked out to sea, it was very romantic. We married 1 year later and have now been married over 15 years and I’m still very much in love with him.

    Hi Martin,
    Nice to hear from you.
I’ve had a chest infection and been off work for a bit, but all set to be back with a vengeance on Saturday!
    Hope you’re well too.

Please would you tell me the brand and source of the spectacle frames you are wearing today – Sunday April 21? They suit you perfectly and we have similar shaped faces. I used to work for an optician and have lots of experience in helping choose frames – I would have chosen those for you!
    Thank you

    Oh Lesley,
I get a lot of enquiries about my specs. They’re really comfy. Only problem is, I bought them in the sales in
the south of France last year. The brand is Italian. Vanni. But I’m afraid I have no further info.
    Really sorry. Good luck.

My husband proposed after 3 weeks together. 6 months later we were married on my birthday, in a lovely church wedding. We have been married nearly 26 years and still very happy.
