Happy June! I love this time of year as it feels like summer with the longer hours of sunlight, but still has the early mornings of bright sun and spring-like bird song. I can tell you when the birds start to sing as I am awake nearly every morning at 05:13am! I find myself woken up by a certain little person wanting to say good morning, and no, I am not talking about Elliot, I mean of course our little baby kicking. Still another 13 weeks to go until we meet this brand new person – gulp!
In this week’s blog I am going to cover fashion (of course), a bit on beauty and some family and home pictures, especially my surge in cooking and baking.
Let’s start from the top and I mean this quite literally with the face and our Beauty Month. For anyone who is interested in taking care of their skin, then this is your month, as across all our beauty brands we have reduced our P&P to only £1.95! I can find choosing what to put on my skin quite daunting and especially as we have such a phenomenal amount of award-winning and ground breaking brands.
As you may have noticed in my last few blogs, I’ve talked about upping my skincare due to hormonal changes in pregnancy. I can tell you with hand on heart that being consistent and regular with these simple steps; remove all make-up, cleanse, apply oil/serum, apply moisturiser, I have seen such a difference. My skin has never looked better! I can of course only talk about my own skin, but I do believe the improvements have been largely due to being consistent with my routine and using the right products for my skin. Here is a shot I took this week.
I have not used a filter in this pic, and yes I do still have lines around my eye (but I don’t mind). In this photo I have applied, as I do every morning, the Elemis Supersize Pro Collagen Neroli Cleansing Balm – this is our Beauty Pick of the Month. £49.96, and no P&P to pay. It is brand new, 200g and throughout June you can only get it with us. It is an amazing deal as the normal cleansing balm is 105g and worth £43.00 plus P&P. I adore the Neroli scent, there are subtle hints of lemon, verbena, fig and orange wax. It has left my skin feeling supple and hydrated and smelling like I’ve had an expensive spa treatment.
Next I applied:
Bareminerals Complexion Rescue SPF 30 in Natural
For make-up; I used a little eyeshadow and blush from one of my favourite Tarte kits, which I use all the time.
So, why not have some fun with your skin and treat yourself?!
The fashion bit:
Last week I shared you some fashion ideas and outfits that I’d put together for my changing shape. Thank you for all your wonderful and kind comments on this. I do post a lot on my Instagram so please have a look there for regular updates, plus I have a Instagram TV channel with demonstrations and even a recent interview for new mums and mums-to-be with our darling Katie Pemberton who does “Style Your Wardrobe” every Thursday on the Style channel.
I love these shots because on this day I had met my lovely friend and fellow presenter Miceal for lunch. We always have a giggle and both share a genuine love of fashion and don’t stop chatting for hours! He took pics one and two. I am trying my hardest to strike a serious model pose but as you can see my true self is revealed when I am found amongst the Moomins with Elliot later on. After I’d said goodbye to Miceal I met Elliot for a date night that was just gorgeous. We spent lots of time wandering around Covent Garden, ate cakes, giggled lots and watched “The Favourite” at the cinema.
I am wearing: Joe Browns jacket Signature leather jacket and a Ghost dress – this used to do up completely now I can only do the top button! But I love the print and fabric so much I am wearing it more as a duster style. There are lots of lovely ones on the QVC website.
We also have a fashion event running through June where on many lines we will also have a reduced P&P of £1.95 so keep an eye out. Our new Big Deal started today too. It’s a Frank Usher Sparkle stud shoulder top with animal print for under £20 – go unleash your inner leopard ladies!
The baking bit:
Cakes, bread, biscuits I love them all! I also love baking and have re-awoken my love of this recently. For a long time I’ve made my own granola using jumbo oats mixed with butter and honey then baked for about 20 mins. Then I mix in pumpkin and sunflower seeds, mixed nuts, cranberries and coconut shavings.
This month though I started making cakes too! Elliot’s son Errol has an egg allergy so I decided to make two egg-free lemon drizzle cakes with lemon and lime butter cream icing. One I added in chocolate orange pieces and white chocolate buttons with strawberries on top. Here are the chief tasters waiting in anticipation. The cakes were finished by the next day!
Eilidh and the bump!
