Hellooooo again! I know you’ve not missed me but I’m back with another blog anyway! Thank you for the comments on my last blog, hopefully by reading this one you’ll get answers to some of those questions that were asked.
I’m 40 this year, have I mentioned that on air? Yes, ridiculous amounts! I’m really excited about it actually, I’m not just embracing it, I actually can’t wait. I’ve got lots planned, from brunches to holidays to dining experiences with friends and family – what’s not to like?
Anyway, in my 40th year I’ve finally decided to make more of an effort with my pathetic, thin wispy hair – that on a bad day has resembled the hair of Worzel Gummidge and on a good one, Doc from Back to The Future. A friend of mine who’s a colourist at a top salon did some balayage type lightening to give the colour a lift which worked wonders. Then our friend and on-air guest Lisa, a Consultant Trichologist from Philip Kingsley, had me over for the afternoon to give my scalp and hair a full MOT and help me address my nutrition and supplements too.
I had a super-boosting Elasticizer treatment on my rat’s tails too and on top of that, I’m now using the engineering masterpiece that is the Dyson Supersonic! (My number one favourite gadget ever)! When it comes to products on my hair I’m sampling lots at the moment to work out what suits my hair and what doesn’t. I don’t stay away too long from Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo, I’ve tinkered with and enjoyed Percy & Reed recently. I’ve also tried Stemm, which sadly isn’t in stock at the moment but for fuller hair with more volume, give it a go.
I’m obsessed with Wonder Balm by Percy and Reed and now wouldn’t dry my hair without applying a layer of this to shut down my cuticles. Apart from that I’m following some basic guidelines – using hair-friendly hair brushes, I’ve grabbed a couple of Tangle Teasers at £12 and I’m not towel rubbing to part dry hair, it causes sooo much breakage – instead I’m patting my hair. All sounds a bit basic, but if we have to go back to basics let’s do it right?! The good news is I am starting to see results! Oh and I am on the Imedeen supplements too – I wouldn’t be without them.
Apart from that, I thought I’d show you a before and after of Teddy, my dog who has also been to the hairdressers and is proud to show off his new aerodynamic chop!
Also he’s loving the new dog food Forthglade available here – crunch crunch!
