Your guide to decorating for the festive season

The countdown to Christmas has begun!

Although you might still be racking your brains for present inspiration, or debating about whose turn it is to cook the turkey, one thing we can help you get a head start on is planning your décor.

From the perfect tree to the accessories that add that festive finishing touch, you can find it all right here to mix and match in with your existing decorations.

O Christmas tree

Both of the below trees are fine examples of a more classic style, and will look spectacular with all of your presents nestled underneath. On the left we have the Bethlehem Lights Fox River tree available in two heights, and on the right is the Bethlehem Lights Bedford Spruce tree.

If you fancy breaking away from tradition, why not try either of these gorgeous options. The Alison Cork glitter tree creates an ethereal, fairy-tale look with its willowy branches, while the poinsettia tree adds the most spectacular splash of cheerful colour.

Let there be light

We’re big fans of fairy lights year-round here at Q Towers, they just add the most wonderfully cosy touch. But Christmas is when you can really go to town and cover every possible surface with these twinkling wonders. The Bethlehem Lights colourful strand and icicle lights from Alison Cork below are two very different but equally seasonal options for brightening up your home.

If you’re on the lookout for stand-alone lights which will brighten up a corner lacking in decoration, we recommend these flameless candle options. The glittery candle on the left is a more elegant option, while the Bethlehem Lights stripy candle is a fun option that will bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Deck the halls

It’s often the finishing touches that guests will notice the most. Two of the most important of these are of course, a wreath and Christmas stockings. Even if you don’t want to go overboard on decorating, these two are really key pieces with traditions that go back hundreds of years. We love this colourful stocking which also lights up; so many decorative elements in one package! There’s no such thing as overdosing on glitter at Christmas, as this Alison Cork wreath proves. Wait until you see the sparkle this creates with its wound-in LED lights. We want one on every door!

Christmas decor

And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without an advent calendar. This gorgeous one on the right allows you to put your own surprises in every day. It complements the colours of the nutcracker figure perfectly, and the two would add the perfect touch of festive fun to a mantle piece or window ledge.

Hopefully you’re now feeling inspired to start planning your home’s decoration theme. Head over to our Christmas department for lots more decorations, lights and festive fun.
