So this week we said goodbye to our Presenter Manager, Paul Slater, who is off to enjoy the good life, travelling and searching for the perfect wine! Paul has been a rock for many of us on the presenting team and he is going to be sorely missed. Can you imagine trying to keep track of all of us lot?! We had a fab send off for him on Friday night, lots of presents and a few celebratory drinks. It was a great turn out and so nice to get to show our appreciation of Paul, but to also to have some fun outside of work with our QVC team. I will take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Paul and everything he has done for all of us, he’s been fantastic. It was also Miceal’s birthday so a double celebration – hope you had a nice birthday Miceal! Here’s a few pics from the evening…
So it’s a busy week at QVC, as always, with some really great offers coming your way. I got to try out Easiyo for the first time. I’ve tasted it before but never tried making it myself. It really is so ‘Easi’! I had a lovely little assistant in the form of Tilda who enjoyed the whole process. We went for the classic Greek Style Yoghurt for our first go and it turned out beautifully. We mixed the yoghurt powder with tepid water and then popped it into the large canister with boiling water. We then left it for 8-12 hours. When I checked it at 9 hours it was still very runny and I was worried I had got it wrong, but I left it for a few more hours and then it was perfect.
We then made ourselves a dish of the finished yoghurt with strawberries, ground seeds and nuts. I thought Tilda might not like the Greek Style because it’s a bit more tart but I was wrong. She really loved it, I think it also helped that she helped to make it as she’s more likely to try things that way. Keep an eye out to see what’s it’s in the Easiyo Today’s Special Value on Tuesday.
I’ve also been giving Gatineau a test run
They are having a bit of a moment this week because not only do they also have a Today’s Special Value but they will also be the Beauty Pick of the Month in July. There are lots of great treats in the TSV but there are two stand out products for me – Radiance Enhancing Gommage and the DefiLift Firming and Lifting Mask. The Gommage is a gel that liquefies when you smooth it onto your skin. It then removes impurities and it’s as though it dissolves the old skin cells away. You can feel it working on your skin like little champagne bubbles popping on your face. It’s a nice feeling!
I then followed it with the Beauty Pick of the Month, Defilift Face Mask. This is really satisfying to paint onto the skin with the beautifully soft brush; you leave it for 20 minutes in which time it has started to dry and tighten. It then washes off very easily. The result was incredibly fresh-looking, radiant skin. The very next day after having using this combination only once, my producer Gina commented on my skin looking good during one of my shows. I can see the difference myself so these two products will become regular fixtures in my bathroom cabinet. You will also be getting the iconic Floricil Eye Make-up Remover, a very nice tinted SPF moisturiser and the Melatogenine Cleanser. See the full presentation throughout the day on Wednesday.
Now I wouldn’t normally talk about quite so many Today’s Special Values but this last week I’ve been lucky enough to try out quite a few. On Thursday night I will be launching the latest offer from Nails Inc and if you love unicorns then you are going to love this colour collection. Inspired by the rainbow manes often depicted on these gorgeous mythical creatures, this is a gorgeous collection perfect for summer – five beautiful colours plus Lacquer Lock. Such a pretty selection, there’s girly pastels but also a fabulous glittering Rose Gold called ‘Carriage Gotta Wait’ and a pearl-like pale blue called ‘Mermaid Playsuit’. They all complement each other beautifully so if you like to have some fun with your nails then you will be able to mix them up a bit with a feature nail or even different colour tips to base colour. Join myself, Daisy and the rest of the Nails Inc team at midnight on Thursday/Friday.
In other news my best friend Anna and I were featured in Enjoy the South magazine talking about our YouTube Channel ‘Hey Mummy’. It’s been going so well and keeping me extra busy outside of QVC. We are talking at a ‘Women in Business’ event in Bristol this week and also doing the on stage interviews at the Dorset Bump to Baby Show so I will let you know how they all go in next week’s blog. Until then, please do let me know what you’ve been up to and if you want to see what else I’m getting up to then follow my Instagram and Twitter.
Lots of Love
