Gold Fever

Firstly I apologise for being awol for most of July but I had a lot of holiday due to me and decided to take some of it to escape the British summer!

I enjoyed my holiday with plenty of relaxing, swimming and reading. I managed to finish three books. I read two, 'Guilty Wives' by James Patterson and 'About Last Night' by Adele Parks, and I finally finished writing mine! So the second 'holiday' I took has been spent reading through and editing what I have written, and starting to select photographs. It's all beginning to feel quite exciting now that most of the hard work has been done. I don't have a publication date as yet but I will keep you posted.

So now that I have a bit of time to relax, I've been joining most of the country in watching the Games. As you know I am a big fan of swimming so I have really been enjoying the events in the pool. Of course I am cheering on Team GB, but what a fantastic achievement by Michael Phelps in achieving his 20th Olympic medal. And what about Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy helping to boost our medal tally?

It is great to see the British athletes performing so well in front of the home crowd although I am a little disappointed that I haven't been able to get any tickets, particularly as there are so many empty seats. I haven't given up yet though, I'm still on the website every night!

Speaking of websites, if you have been on ours you may have spotted a little bit of gold there too. I'm not talking about jewellery, I'm referring to the tops of the Decleor TSV that I am launching with Fiona at midnight on Saturday. If you have a slightly more mature skin I think you will love it. I have also been trying out Decleor's eye make-up remover… brilliant!

So a busy weekend at 'the Q' for me and a fabulous new candle show to look forward to on Tuesday. It's called Sandy Bay and I when I opened my samples this morning I instantly fell in love with 'White Tea, Lily and Wisteria' … divine!

Have a great weekend and do watch us when you can drag yourself away from the Games,

Much love, Julia xx

Hi Julia its lovely to have you back but I am so disappointed by todays Decleor TSV not being on easy pay. Myself and my friends were looking forward to getting it but to pay out £50.00 in one hit is just not possible in these times. We can’t be the only ones who are disappointed I know its not your decision but I would appreciate it if you could pass my comments on. By the way you are looking great Decleor obviously works for you. Mariex

    Hi Julie,
Glad you had a good holiday, you looked to have a lovely tan, have not had much chance to get one with our awful weather have we. Wow you have finished your book, well done, look forward to that when it is published. Yes we should be proud of all the achievements we have in the games, and feel really proud of them all they have all done so well. Yes I love watching the swimming, lets hope Tom Daley can get a medal this week.Michael Phelps is a really strong swimmer, there are some really strong swimmers out there, they must have to put in a lot of training. Our Equestrian team did really well, and Andy Murray of course.Anyway nice to have you back on air.
    Love Jean X

    Hi Julia
Nice to see you back on air again and looking well rested and tanned of course.
Funny, Chris said he wasn’t going to watch any of the Olympics, because of the cost of everything and the aftermath of it all…well, he’s been glued to the TV every night, as have I…love the Velodrome and the speeds they get up to without any brakes. Everything has been fantastic, swimming, gymnastics (shame about Beth’s step back), athletics, the lot!! Although, we were very disappointed that the marathon runners didn’t end in the stadium…they’ve always run into the Olympic stadium and done a lap before finishing. It’s a real pity that they have missed out on the whole atmosphere of the stadium at the end, but I do understand the logistics of it all…shame, all the same!
I’ve had my first physio appointment today on my neck and shoulders…apparently I’m very tight in my shoulders and had to lie on the bed with my face down in the holey thing and had a fit of the giggles, because it brought to mind ‘Robert De Niro’ in ‘Meet the Fockers’ lol!! I did tell Chris that I’d been ‘Fockered’ (you’re welcome to edit that bit) and he said “what, they’ve done what Barbara Streisand did to De Niro, on your back?”! The massage was very painful at the time, but I must admit, it does feel a bit different. I’ve been given a few exercises to do until my visit next week and she’s told me to include the Back Magic as well, after I told her about it.

    Hi Julia
Glad to hear your book is finished and look forward to more postings on that. I also finished three books in July and can’t believe you didn’t join the millions of ‘Fifty Shades’ fanatics!! Nuff said!!
There was a time I wouldn’t have passed up a Decleor TSV opportunity but, as you know, I’m all loved up with Elemis these days. Got the ‘Try Me’ last week and that arrived today so will be slapping the new Pro Intense Lift cream on in the morning. I also dipped my toe into Percy and Reed with Monday’s TSV. I’ve been meaning to try it for a while so I’ll let you know on that one.
Gold Fever’s dead right regards the Olympics isn’t it. Very exciting. Don’t worry though, it hasn’t stopped my QVC gallop as you can probably tell!

Great to see you back Julia! I have been enjoying the olympics too, it is great to see all the dedication does pay off and I hope our youngsters will be inspired by these great athletes.
Next time you leave our screens the least you could do is post a few holiday pictures though ;o)
    Take care,

    Hi Martin
Yes I did enjoy my holiday thanks – the latest break was spent here working on the finishing touches to my book. We were able to give Sophie on old TV of ours for the living room in her flat so she is a happy bunny now. The football season is about to start again, so Daniel has started back coaching at Crystal Palace – he loves it! I’ve asked the question about men’s fashion but no firm response yet.
    Hope you are well

    Hello Marie
I have forwarded your post to our planning team so they are aware that there were some disappointed customers. I am sorry that you were not able to try the new cleanser and ‘toner’ at this time but maybe the next time we have it will be on its own at a more affordable price. One thing I will say about it is that it is quite a thick lotion so you don’t need to use too much.
Thanks for your kind compliment and again sorry to disappoint

    Hello Jean
I can’t believe how well Team GB have done since your post!!!! We have 25 gold medals and 52 medals overall so far ….. it’s almost too good to be true. Did you see the dancing horses yesterday?? I will be sad when it’s all over.
Looks like we may finally get a few days of summer this weekend so hope you will be able to enjoy it.
Will keep you posted on the book

    Hello Di
Sorry to hear that you are not too well. I had to take steroids for my skin a couple of years ago and I agree they are horrible – they made me feel slightly disorientated. Don’t worry about the weight gain at the moment, the most important thing is to get your illness under control.
I am a fan of Adele Parks as a writer so I enjoyed her book. Guilty Wives was really good at the beginning and towards the end but I thought there was a bit too much detail in the middle section which made it a slightly difficult read.
Give my love to Dave, and I hope he has more good days than bad

    Hi Annette
Isn’t it funny how ‘our Chris’s’ have so many similarities – mine was a bit of an Olympic moaner too. I don’t know how much he would have watched left to his own devices, but Daniel and I have been glued to it whenever possible. I can’t believe I was on air last night during the 200 metre final – bad planning on my part! It has given the whole country such a lift to finally show the world that we are worldbeaters in so many different events.
Glad to hear that the massage you had helped your neck and shoulders and hoping that they will continue to improve. I think Back Magic is coming up soon on QVC as a TSV but sadly I’m not on with it. Loved both those movies ‘Meet the Parents’ and ‘Meet the Fockers’ ……….. isn’t there a new one out?

    Hi Marion
No I haven’t succombed to the Fifty Shades trilogy – someone told me QVC gets a mention in book three?
I haven’t tried the Pro Intense Lift Cream from Elemis yet so you will have to let me know how you get on. I also haven’t tried Percy and Reed but I know Pipa is a huge fan. I’m loving the Lulu shampoo and conditioner and I’m still an Aveda girl at heart ……… wish we still sold it!
I don’t need to ask what you will be watching when the Olympics is over LOL!!!!!
    speak soon

    Hello Pete
    It’s nice to be missed!
I can’t believe how well Team GB has performed – I think the crowd has obviously helped lift the athletes to produce lots of PBs. Difficult to choose a favourite moment but Jess Ennis has to be in there somewhere. You are right about our youngsters – if they are not inspired to work hard after this then nothing will inspire them.
I think you might like the cover of my book ………
