I hope you’ve had a great week so far… is it me or does March seem to be racing by already!?
It was around this time of year back in the year 2000 when I first went on air for QVC. It was a Monday morning and a 9am outlet show of jewellery. I think it’s fair to say it was the fastest hour of my life and possibly one of the most nerve-racking too!
I was on my own for my very first hour and there was so much to contend with. I think one of the most challenging aspects was listening to talkback (the voices in the gallery of my director and producer giving me regular updates and instruction on which camera to look to and also informing me of what shot was being taken next).
I think my biggest fear though was the jewellery itself. I was no expert and I’d spent the previous three months learning as much as I could. I soon realised though that the best formula was to prepare for a show at a time and also realised, and still do to this day, that you never stop learning.
Well… my love affair with jewellery began that very morning and has stayed with me ever since. Whether it be gems, Diamonique, silver, gold, platinum or fashion jewellery I have a very high level of appreciation for all genres and hopefully my passion and appreciation comes across on air.
So, I was glancing at the schedule a few weeks back and was truly thrilled to see I’ll be presenting our three hour Gold Fever special this Monday 13th March from 8pm.
Our buyers and planners have worked tirelessly to compile a wonderful event for you. We have a beautiful collection before us and we are laden with three easy pays too!
I hope you can join me. I’ll have a special guest for company as well!
Monday evening, 8pm… I’ll see you then!
