I was just thinking what I’m writing about in this week’s blog and the title Glamour Puss jumped into my head, making me wonder whether a) people still use the expression much and b) where it originated? Either way it seemed the purrfect title for this week’s epistle.
More on Wilfy later but I thought I would start by urging you to stay up until midnight tonight as Simon and I are launching the Butler & Wilson TSV at midnight. You have probably already seen it on quite a few of the presenters and models over the last couple of weeks. It is available in three different colour options (pictured below), is very movie-star glamorous, and is a fantastic price.
There won’t be another B&W TSV this year and I have a feeling it might be rather popular. I have an hour with Simon to kick off the day and then we are together for his final show of the day at 8pm. I hope we will still have some beautiful pieces to share with you…there may even be an OTO!?
Prior to my 8pm show with Simon I have L’Occitane at 4pm. I am only about a third of the way through my Almond Shower Oil from the last TSV and I still have the whole refill to go. I should mention that I DO bathe or shower at least once a day, in case you were wondering!
Then at 5pm we are revamping Fashion on Friday. Those of you who watch regularly will know that I’ve referred to it by that title for the last fifteen years, since I inherited the slot from Steve Whatley, but apparently it has never officially been called that.
The show will be pretty similar to how it has always been but the plan is for us to have a featured brand each week, more new styles and also each week there will be something called ‘Julia’s Pick’. The brand we are featuring in this week’s show is Peter Kaiser Shoes and here’s a little heads up on my first ‘pick’. Item number 113876, available in black or purple.
I wouldn’t be able to wear them as the heels are too high for me but I think they are the perfect shoe to wear with your LBD either daytime or evening. We’ve been running a little advert for it and if you haven’t seen it yet you can watch it below.

So at last we get to Wilfy the kitten! We were a bit worried last week as he didn’t seem to be eating much and he had a slightly upset tummy. I called the vet on Monday and the nurse said he needed to come off his baby milk and to stick to the same brand of food. It has done the trick. He is not missing his milk and consuming plentiful amounts of hard food and a sachet of moist food a day.
Last night my daughter Sophie brought his brother, Milo, over to play while she enjoyed a home-cooked dinner of asparagus, pea and spring onion risotto. After a slightly growly hissy start they had great fun playing on the climbing post, with a ball of wool and chasing a ball – according to Daniel, Milo had better ball skills and he should know as he’s a football coach!
The only problem with Wilfy now is his sleeping arrangements. Our older cat, Poppy, is still not ‘loving’ him so we daren’t leave them in the same room overnight, which means Wilfy sleeps in our en suite bathroom. He is a really good boy until 7am when, regular as clockwork, he wakes up and starts miaowing loudly and insistently.
Poor old Chris has the job of quietly removing him, his litter tray and his food bowls when I’ve been on a late shift. We’re hoping that Poppy will eventually accept Wilfy…she doesn’t have much choice really.
I have a few days off after tomorrow but enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you next Thursday with the Trinny & Susannah TSV launch.
