What an enjoyable night I had on Saturday – even if I did have to sing! It was a super gala dinner for the other charity I’m a patron of, and I had tons of pics and videos to post on Facebook and YouTube afterwards! This pic is of me, Ali Keenan my lovely fellow QVC presenter, and Eileen, my fab pal I met on Facebook who helps me with admin on one of my groups and comes to lots of events like this, bless her. We danced, we sang, (Ali came up and did some Karaoke with me too!) and had an all-round fab time, courtesy of Linda Magistris who has done tons of events in her time, and is a whizz at it. Here’s when me and Ali sang ‘Ole Devil Love’.
Linda asked me back in October if I’d do a couple of numbers at Saturday’s event, (like I did at the concert I organised in September in Devon) and I was a bit unsure, as I get so nervous! But as it was during dinner, and I didn’t have to remember all the words as the karaoke screen was set up, I said yes.
Here’s a snippet – as I said, it was during dinner deliberately, so I wasn’t putting on a show, just providing a bit of accompanying music whilst people got their food. Then I got mine – talk about sing for your supper! Hehe.
They had a charity auction as well, including some art works by a very talented artist called Bev Sage – who donated a super pic dedicated to the memory of her friend from Grenfell. Bev used to be one half of the Techno Twins in the 80s – remember them? Also Ali was asked to model a pair of Jimmy Choo sandals, as they were her size and she has such perfect slim feet for shoes like that. If I’d tried them it’d have been like one of the ugly sisters and the glass slipper! Hehe! Ali though, looked fabulous.
I said to Ali, after she’d sat there all model-like, ‘when I come back in the next life, I want legs and feet like yours!’ Rather than Hobbit feet – size 7.5 EE… After watching the Apprentice this week, we were chatting about what business plan we would have if we were in front of Lord Sugar; well mine would be shoes for Hobbit feet! Lol. Otherwise do try Clarks – I’m loving wearing these wide calf boots at the moment – the Caddie Belle design I have the burgundy suede, the black suede and more!
This week’s deals
Friday’s is the wonderful Rio Facial Deep Skin cleanser that is kind of a hand massager as well, if you know what I mean – batteries included. See my video about it on my Facebook page around the 10th December (link below) and buy it here.
And tonight at midnight I’m launching the latest Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless vacuum at a brilliant price as it’s top of the range and really does act like an upright. Can’t wait! If you can’t either, click here and when the link is activated from midnight tonight it’ll be available for you to buy at Today’s Special Value price for Saturday only!
Gatineau gets it right
OMG there’s a new eye cream from Gatineau that’s blowing everyone away – I had a little sample and am really impressed. It goes on as a cream but then converts to a concealer! If you’re a Gatineau fan, don’t miss it – it’s Sunday’s #TSV but you can get it now on this early bird order link here.
No P&P on the Velvet Blurring Primer from Becca
And just a quick reminder that there’s a zero postage offer on this month’s Beauty Pick of the Month from one of the biggest brands in the USA – Becca and their special Velvet Blurring Primer. I was on air with Ruth last weekend and my face felt super smooth after using this – like it had been airbrushed and make-up goes on so much better when you use it. If you’re not completely happy you can get all of your money back as there’s NO postage – just £25.44 on a reduced price too. NB it is super runny so you only need a tiny bit then it converts to a matte finish – I like it a lot! Get it here now whilst it’s free p&p. Only for December.
Book of the Week
Talking of The Apprentice, I spotted an amazing Audible original audiobook with the same name – but set in one of my favourite periods, the 1300s, following a self-made man as he becomes a successful merchant. It’s attractive to me as it’s the first of three and I love getting into long serials. I’ve downloaded it, will let you know once I’ve read it, as I’ve still got hours and hours of last week’s (Column of Fire by Ken Follett) which I’m really enjoying.
Loony Luna strikes again
Was dog-sitting for daughter at the weekend again – including watching silly black dog play rub-my-tum. And OMG such a funny clip of loony grandpog Luna ‘listening’ to what I was saying this week – go to my Facebook post to see it (link below) (and like the page – please watch out soon for a super bumper competition tied in to the launch of my new QVC Chat page on Facebook!)
Pogs n Presents
Well! As usual there was I, setting out all my wrapping and pressies ready to go, and I left myself a small gap in the middle in which to sit so I could reach everything. Then lo and behold, I came back in and what did I see? Two brown flabradors snoring away in MY space! Lol. Bless them. They really enjoy company in the big house down in Devon. Especially when my guests arrive and give them lots of attention. And when I’m not there, they love being looked after by neighbours Mummy Wendy, Mummy Linda and Uncle Keith – am very lucky to have such help.
Writing Pals at the Pub
I also had a few of my pals down this week. My guests and I went across to the local pub because Julie Cohen – an amazing writing tutor and my mentor – has been down to stay seven times but never been in the Half Moon Inn opposite me in Sheepwash, so we went to explore the gin selection. Well, they did – alcohol tends to make me not sleep very well! Anyway I was amazed there were so many local gins – four from Cornwall alone! A good time was had by all – even if I just had tonic! At Christmas I may allow myself some Bailey’s though – what’s your tipple?
Festive Cheer at my Place in Devon
Wrote all about the Christmas decs at my place this week, and am very proud of how they’re all turning out I must say! This is the tree – a real one, I decided. What are you having? Are any of our trees doing you proud?
Very funny show again with Lola Rose’s Nikki last week – and this happened! Lol… I didn’t think she’d noticed…!
Apart from this Sunday’s Apprentice Final, am looking forward very much to the series called Feud on BBC starting this weekend, about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, played uncannily well by Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange. Can’t wait – and it’s on the telly!
