Getting set for my holidays!

1

Hi everyone, it’s a shorter than normal blog from me today due to the fact that I am up to my ears in suitcases and clothes trying to pack for myself, the girls and Fred. There’s so much to take when your kids are still small! I am also a notoriously bad packer, I am always guilty of throwing things in without thinking about it and when I get to where I am going I find I’ve brought a skirt that doesn’t go with anything else or shorts but hardly any T-shirts.

I got a tip from Katie Pemberton who said you have to pack in outfits, so that’s what I have tried to do. I have made sure if I have skirts or trousers that I have a top that goes with them. I have shoes that go with dresses and jumpsuits and I have minimised my make-up bag to the basics. I have struggled to minimise my skincare though, which cleanser do I take, which moisturiser? Obviously I have my Ultrasun that’s a no brainer, but which formula?!

I shall share next week which products made it with me. By the time you are reading this blog I shall hopefully already be well into my holiday in Gran Canaria. I’m hoping that the girls will be happy for a few hours in the kids club each day so that Fred and I can actually relax. I might even be able to read a book!!

I obviously couldn’t go without giving you one last batch of treats from our accessories range though to finish off Accessories Month at QVC. So seeing as I am heading to the sun I figured I should talk about sunglasses. We have the most incredible range of Amanda Wakeley sunglasses coming in, I know I mentioned a pair last week but there’s even more coming in and they’re gorgeous so I hope you will forgive me for repeating myself a little!

I am completely in love with the Portabello Round Sunglasses, I know they are a bit unusual and not everyone’s cup of tea but I just think they are just brilliant. I will definiltely be ordering these! The other three are The Camden, The Berwick and The Chelsea. (Clockwise from top left starting with Portabello).

I also wanted to bring you some more shoes because the colours that have been arriving are just fabulous! You may already know that Marc Fisher shoes are some of my favourites and it’s not hard to see why. The first pair are the Shire Suede Strappy Mules. I have them in Bright Blue and they are just gorgeous but we also have Pink and Black. They are super soft and weirdly comfortable, I wondered if they wouldn’t be but I was wrong. I am going to bring these on holiday as I have a fabulous red dress by Join which will look great with them.

The second pair are the Flame Cross Front Low Wedge Sandal. I have the Orange Suede. These have a solid sole so there’s less movement when walking but they’re not restrictive. You can adjust the buckle to suit you too which helps if you are a half size, which I am. We also have them in Black Suede and Blue Denim. I love the orange though as it’s such a bright happy colour and the espadrille style bottom makes them perfect for summer style.

Thanks so much to everyone who entered my Radley handbag competition last week. The winner was picked at random and has been notified. I will announce it once they have replied to us!

I shall make sure to be back to my normal blogs soon, packed with more fashion and recipes and of course I shall share some of my holiday snaps next week!

Until then, have a great half term if you are off with the kids too. If not have a great week, let me know what you are up to.

Love Katy x
