Hi everyone, thanks for taking a minute to read my blog, I hope you are well?
So what have I been up to lately? Well other than work, Fred and I had a rare night out for a friend’s birthday. We left the kids with my parents and headed into Maida Vale in London to a fish restaurant called the Summer House. It’s a gorgeous place and I would thoroughly recommend it.
I had fillet of seabass which was really good and we did indulge in plenty of red wine! There was about 12 of us and it was such a nice crowd, including some of my very best friends, Thali and Emma, who I’ve known since we were 11! I got to wear some of the latest pieces from the Roberto by RFM collection including this ring and pendant. The polaroids are pics from the evening. I think you can just about see Fred trying to photo bomb in the background!! He’s such a kid!
I’ve been indulging massively in skincare and beauty lately as we geared up to the Beauty Weekend at QVC. It was so much fun and amazing to see so many incredible brands. I hadn’t used IT Cosmetics before but I love their make-up range now and will definitely be using it for on air and off.
The Waterproof Anti-ageing Eyeliner and Waterproof Lip Liners are my favourite. The eyeliner goes on like a dream and the lip liner stays put for ages!
Here’s me with a full face of Tarte and It Cosmetics. I used the CC Cream, eyeliner, lip liner and powder from IT Cosmetics and the eyeshadow and blush is Tarte. Finished off with mascara by Laura Geller.
I had a fab two-hour show with Keeley from Elemis as part of their mini series. We wondered after four days of shows, would you still want more? Well it turned out you did, and then some!! I’m not surprised as the offers were crazy.
This is definitely a brand that suits my skin so it’s always a pleasure to work with them. Keeley also has a naughty sense of humour so if you see us trying not to giggle, you can blame her! I also worked with the team from Tarte too and their make-up pallets are the most beautiful things ever. I always have a little gasp when I open their pallets for the first time, they are just gorgeous.
One product that I came across for the first time was Ioma Youth Booster Skin Reader, not only is it an incredible serum but it comes with a gadget that reads the hydration in your skin! Well I was trying it all over the place, it’s addictive. I had just done a fake tan that morning which can be drying on your skin so it said my hydration levels were terrible. What an amazing way to encourage you to moisturise and to drink more water.
I’ve had a lot of emails and Tweets about a particular nail varnish I’ve been wearing on air so I thought I would share it here. It’s my latest favourite and is by OPI, called Kerry Blossom.
Outside of QVC, I’ve been busy with my little girls of course. Ivy has been teething which has been hard work for her but also on us at night, but the troublesome tooth is now through so hopefully we can all relax for a little while.
I took Tilda and her best friend Ozzy to the cinema to see the animated film Ballerina. They loved it and both danced and leapt out of the cinema foyer like the characters in the film which was so great to see. Kids playing out their imaginations is one of my favourite things to watch as a parent. Tilda can get lost in her little stories that she creates for hours, particularly with her Lego characters.
The fog down here on the south coast is crazy at the moment, you can’t even see the sea from the beach. I’m definitely starting to dream of sunnier days ahead. Have you started making any plans for the summer?
We have a family wedding coming up in Greece which I can’t wait for. We are also thinking of taking the kids to Camp Bestival – has anyone been? What tips do you have for me? I’ve done Glastonbury a few times but that was before we had children. I can imagine it’s a very different ball game being at a festival with little ones to keep an eye on. Camp Bestival is so geared towards families though so I’m hoping it will be fun.
Love Katy xx
