Well done JR!

No, I’m not giving myself a pat on the back, I am congratulating the winner of my Liz Earle Superskin Collection competition who just happens to have the same initials as me. More than a thousand of you correctly answered that the Liz Earle company is based on the Isle of Wight, and Janice Reeves was randomly selected as our winner. Congratulations Janice, I hope you enjoy using the products.

Well I’m delighted to say that my sofas have arrived. I must admit I was a bit nervous whether or not we would get them in time for Christmas, despite assurances from the salesman at DFS, but true to My new sofashis word they were delivered into store on Tuesday and delivered to us yesterday morning. I’m really pleased with the colour and comfort, and the two sofas fit perfectly in our little cottage. It means we have been able to put the conservatory furniture back in the conservatory for the first time since we painted it, and I can once again enjoy sitting in there for my early morning hot lemon drink.

We also took delivery of a runner carpet for our hallway this week. I love the muted colours but Milo, Sophie’s cat, just loves the carpet full-stop. Since we rolled it out he has frequently disappeared into the hallway just to stretch out on it … he really is so cute.

Now that the sofas have arrived we will be able to think about putting the Christmas decorations up. Dan is coming over tomorrow after training his CPFC U11s, so we will all be able to decorate the tree together. The only thing Christmassy about the house so far is the Bethlehem Lights hanging basket on the porch, and a scattering of Christmas cards, so it will be nice to get everywhere more festive.

Julia cardsSpeaking of Christmas cards, thanks to all of you who have sent them in – it really does help to brighten up the dressing room. If you gave me your address a card should be on its way to you.

Must dash as it’s the Presenter Christmas lunch (part 2) today, and then I am on air at 5pm with Yong Kim and 6pm with Nails Inc (although possibly not with today’s Nails Inc TSV as it has been selling really well).

On the subject of TSVs, I am deliberating whether to ask Chris to get me the Links of London necklace as an extra pressie. It’s under £50, and although it is really tomorrow’s TSV, you can get it on our website now – ssshhhh I didn’t tell you!

620251 Links of London TSV

I will try and do a quick blog next week with pictures of the Christmas tree etc, but in case I run out of time I’d just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Much love,
Julia xx

    Hi Julia
Glad you got your Sofa ‘s in time for Christmas, they look nice and comfortable and a nice colour. Milo has found his place for Christmas by the sound of it, your new carpet, they are funny aren’t they.

So you are going to be busy decorating now, I expect the Cats will check out the tree. One of ours did yesterday, have to watch him with the tinsel, wants to eat it. Waiting tofind the baubles all over the floor.

Yes have been watching Yong Kim, she has done some lovely designs, and yes I was tempted again, and got the cowl neck tunic. And yes the Links TSV is nice, I nearly got it when it was on before, maybe this time not made my mind up yet. Hope you get yours.

Thank you for your card, and I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas. And a Happy and Healthy New Year.

    Love Jean XX

      Hi Jean
We went out and got the tree on Saturday morning then Daniel, Sophie and I decorated it in the early evening after Chris had gone to work. Both cats have been tapping the branches, patting the tinsel and whacking the baubles but it’s still standing at the moment.
Hope you got the Links necklace – mine is on it’s way!
Glad you got the card … Merry Christmas

    Hi Julia,
Your sofas look lovely and very relaxing. It must be a nice and a relief for you to have it sorted in time for the festivities. We are going to my son and daughter in law for Christmas so its quite nice (and a bit lazy of me) not to have to dash about getting everywhere tiptop for the day, They are being very good and even though I offered to take a starter, pud etc but they said no. So my contribution is the Christmas crackers and I am also making a centrepiece for the table. On Sunday we have a local Farmers Market where I live and its in an area where I can collect some extra foliage after I’ve been and bought my bits and bobs.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

      Hi Denise
I hope you have a lovely relaxing Christmas with your son and daughter in law – nice not to have too much to do.
Thank goodness we got the sofas in time for Christmas as my mum has now decided she is coming so we would have been tight for sitting and sleeping space.
Love to you and your family

    Hi Julia,
Glad to see your sofa’s have arrived in time for Christmas. I can’t believe it is next week. The week’s are certainly flying by. I didn’t order the Pearl earrings as I have quite a few pairs already but I did order the Centigrade TSV instead. I managed to order the Emerald Green option before it sold out. So I am eagerly awaiting delivery of it. I have a few Centigrade Coats. The only niggle I have with them is the sizing as I find sometimes the one size is just a little snug fitting and if I order the next size up it is too big , especially on the shoulders. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this one will fit o.k., especially as the Emerald colour has now sold out.
I’m glad you found the Christmas card amusing. I can see it on the photo you posted on this week’s blog!
We are just about ready for Christmas. I am hoping that I will not have to go up to my local town until after Christmas as the traffic and parking is horrendous. We have a smaller Tesco and a few shops in my village so we should be o.k. if we run out of anything. It is crazy- the shop’s are only shut for a day anyway as my husband keeps reminding me.
Well I hope you and your family have a wonderful, peaceful and joyous Christmas and everything you wish for in the coming New Year-“Nadolig Llawen i ty”….
    Lots of love Tina S.xx

      Hi Tina
I wonder if you have received your Centigrade TSV yet? My sample was in the navy which is nice but I think I preferred the green – it did come up a bit large so hopefully however was presenting when you bought explained that. I have a mix of small s and mediums in my Centigrade coats.
I haven’t do e much of the food shopping yet, just the extras like lots of different cheeses to try – I love cheese!
Hope you got your Christmas card from me?
What did the Welsh phrase mean?
Have a lovely Christmas and a Happy & Healthy 2015.

        Hi Julia,
Yes, I have received your card-thank you very much. The Welsh phrase-“Nadoleg Llawen” means, ” Happy Christmas.”
I received my Centigrade coat on Saturday but unfortunately had to return it as the hood was ENORMOUS!!!! I was so disappointed. When I checked the other reviews on this coat there were quite a few that had the same problems and returned the coat.
Well, I hope you’ve got everything ready for Christmas as tomorrow is Christmas Eve. We went for our last trip out for brekkie to our local fave place today. The traffic was getting a bit mad on the way back. So it will be trips to the local shops till everything is back to normal.
Have a fab time. Speak to you after hol’s.
Love & best wishes Tina S. XX

Merry Christmas Julia, Your sofas look very smart and hopefully combine style and comfort, your home must love having had so much care and attention given to it. As a child I thought that houses had feelings and I’ve never stopped thinking that way … Thank you for all your wonderful blogs this year; they are so interesting and a big “Thank you” for always being the ultimate professional when you are presenting on the Q. Whatever concerns you may have you never let them intrude and look as calm and in control as you always have. You are also glamour personified – much to be admired. I wish you and all you love a Merry Christmas and everything good for 2015. Love from Jo x

I’m glad you enjoy my blogs and hope you will continue to read them next year … I’ll try and keep them interesting.

    Hi Julia
Thank you so much for your Christmas card and kind words. Chris thinks it is very good of you to take the time to write a personal response and Bobby is made up that you think he is cute!

So glad that you sofas arrived in good time for Christmas, they look really comfy and the colour is lovely. We got our sofas from there a few years ago now, but I must say that after years of use they are a little uncomfortable and leather is quite cold to sit on initially.

I am planning on trying your cheese scone recipe after Christmas, they look scrummy…we’re so behind at the moment. Chris has had an abscess which has appeared from time to time on his bridgework, which has now failed, so he’s on antibiotics and no alcohol, followed by extractions and surgery on 30th, not really something to look forward to!
Remember you told me about your super-duper Sonicare toothbrush, well a couple of weeks after that and exactly 12 days before the 2 year warranty expired, my Sonicare failed…Philips were fantastic, you fill in their online form (providing you’ve registered the product), they send you a label to return it and 3 days later I had an email saying a replacement handle was in the post. It had been replaced under warranty, how brilliant was that!

Must go and do some more wrapping. Thank you again for the card and I hope that you, Chris, Daniel, Sophie, both Mums and all the kitty cats have a fantastic Christmas together.

On the football front we have both lst our managers!! Pleased to see Warnock go while there is still time to retrieve the situation – I never thought he was the right man for the job. Looks like it will be Pardew for us, how about you?

    Hi Annette
Just a quickie as I have loads of presents to wrap. Poor Chris – I hope the surgery goes well, and fancy not being able to have a glass of wine over Christmas!!! The cheese spelt scones would be good for him as they are so soft. Made some more yesterday to have for lunch today with carrot and orange soup.
The mums are here so must dash.
Merry Christmas and hoping for a healthier 2015 for us all

    Hi Julia
I had a great Christmas too thanks. Going to be staying in at New Year this year which is unusual but I will be with some of my relatives and family so should be good.
As ever with my club now it’s clear as mud and lots of rumours flying about. Hopefully 2015 will see things sorted out off the park more than on it. The return to the SPL if we get there looks like it’ll have to be through the play offs. As long as we don’t end up with Warnock!!! That’s is one of the many rumours up here. Hope you have a brilliant Hogmanay and I shall no doubt speak to you on here next year! Bring on 2015

Hello Julia, I have just received the Liz Earle Prize, and am thrilled with it, as I live in Spain they could only send to Uk, so I had to get it sent to my best friend in the Uk, she has been out for a visit and brought it out with her, she was hoping for some nice warm weather, but alas we have been in a very cold spell at the moment, with snow on the mountains and a rather bitter wind ,we have a log burner so that is on most of the day, I am a fan of Liz Earle and have used the Cleanse and Polish and Instant Skin Boost, will now be using the other products, Thank you once again, love shopping with QVC and also watching your shows , love Janice
