Friends, fragrance training and a new way to connect!

Enjoying the sunshineHi there, how are you?

Hope you are well and that the sun is starting to peep through wherever you are?! All well with me, as I write this blog I am sat in my garden in the sun listening to the birds singing, sipping an orange juice with my neighbour and feeling very blessed 🙂

It's been a great couple of weeks: my friend Sue (the lady who hosted my 40th birthday celebrations last summer in France – check out the blog here) was over for the weekend and we had an action-packed weekend – we had a dinner party, went exploring round Portobello Markets, saw 'Wicked' in the West End and saw London from the London Eye!! We also on the Sunday morning had a wonderful brunch in my sun-filled garden – on the menu was veggie & salmon frittatas, warm pastries and lots of Bucks Fizz! Thank goodness Sue was there, I am not great at cooking on a large scale but she was a natural. You can also see Justine Balmer who came along too, couldn't get her to sing though, drat!

Fragrance training

Also, last week Ali K, Pipa & I attended a fragrance course along with some the buying team at QVC. What a brilliant day, the event was hosted by master perfumer Roja Dove and I learnt so much about fragrance, its history and how the different elements all come together to make every fragrance so unique. I had the pleasure of working with Tova on-air not long afterwards and I am hoping I will get to host more fragrance shows soon on QVC.

One other thing, have you heard of AudioBoo? It's a recording system on the internet where you leave 'Boos' – I have signed up to it and I am going to be using it to answer the many questions I get about upcoming TSVs, skincare products and to share other happenings that I don't always get chance to on the blog, here is my first audio boo. I'll let you know when I have done more by Tweeting, Facebooking and mentioning it on my blog.

Ok, it's the famous 3 things!!

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK: Being in my sunny garden at the brunch I did surrounded by people I love, lots of laughter and some good food. Who could ask for more?

FAVOURITE PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: 'Handsome' fragrance by Tova – I have a new found passion for fragrance since doing the course and I have worn this fragrance every day this week and get so many wonderful compliments!

HAPPY THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: I hurt my back recently lifting weights and it's really taught me that as I am getting older its time to re-think the way I exercise and introduce more yoga, pilates and stretching in order to keep myself supple. Out of something seemingly negative like pain there is always a lesson to be learnt.

How has your week been? I would LOVE to hear YOUR 3 things.

Thank you for reading my blog, it is much appreciated.

As ever, sending big BIG hugs,

Craig xx

    Hi Craig
I have just been reading your blog (I love reading all of the presenter’s blogs as I am not a Tweet or Facebook kind of person), so reading the presenter’s blogs keeps me in touch with you all.
I had to drop you a line though as I was reading your Tweets, and I think that you have come up with a fantastic idea of a Kelly Hoppen Deckchair, what an amazing idea, I can picture it now, her trademark colours for the fabric, and maybe it could have a kind of white washed effect on the wood, giving it a kind of “beachy” New England look. I think it sounds so good that QVC should get to the drawing board quick with this one as it would be a truly beautiful and stunning TSV.
I have been with QVC for many years, and I have bought two TSV’s that have been designed by well known people/celebrities, the first one was a pair of stunning 9ct gold aquamarine and rose quartz earings from the well known London girl Tamara Beckwith, they were expensive, but I had to have them, and I did, and I wear them with love to this day, my other item I bought was a stunning HP netbook by the designer Vivien Tam, it is absolutely beautiful and will always be with me.
So I am sure you are on to yet another winning TSV here, and if (I sincerely hope) it does come to air I will be buying.
My three things for this week are
Highlight of the week is the sun is out, and I hope it is here to stay, as I feel so much better.
Favourite product of the week is I have bought the Panasonic Lumix TZ25 Camera for my eldest son who is 24 on the 8th May, so that he can create some very special memories.
Happy thought for the week is my son, William, who will be 24 next week, is graduating from the University of South Wales on the 16th July in Forensic Biology. I have to keep pinching myself that this is happening, after three years of very hard work, as William has faced many difficulties over the last seven years as he was taken very ill with Salmonella, and subsequently this has led to him being now disabled and very sick, as he now suffers from Chronic Regional Pain Affective Disorder, but through all of this both he and his younger brother who I rely on to help me as I am a single Mum, so I am now a full-time carer for William, they are fantastic young men, and I am so proud and happy that the Lord chose me to have these two wonderful sons.
With my warmest wishes to you, and I will keep a watchout on your blog for any news on your fantastic idea for a new TSV, it will be a truly iconic piece, and not everyone will have one, I like that.
    Much love,
    Samantha x

    Oh Mr Craig
You are one very lucky man – you seem to have so much fun both in work and personally – very envious. As you know I did listen to your audio boo – I shall say no more Mr TV voice!!!
I had a week off week before last due to tearing a ligament in my knee – came back last week having been moved from the 4th floor to the ground floor ( I think that was more to make sure I came back as GP wanted at least another week!!!). The knee is improving thankfully – stairs are still a little tricky but I will get there sooner rather than later!!
Highlight – Looking in garden and seeing a plant spring back into life that I had completely forgotten – it is a beautiful plant – in the aquileiga (spelling wrong I think!) which has the most beautiful tiny flowers – 🙂
Product: Richard Jackson’s Flower Power – need I say more!
Happy Thought: Elemis TSV on Sunday!
    Take care Mr Craig
    Lots of hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Craig…….. loved reading your blog, the weekend to London sounded espeically fun. How do you fit it all in !!!?
My 3 things: Highlight: Having some sunny weather to tackle the front of my house: much planting, pruning of bushes and finally a lick of paint and it has been transformed ! You would not believe how much this has bugged me over the winter , now I can have an entrance to be proud of!
Product: I treated myself to some solar mosaic lights (not from QVC) which are incredibly bright. Guess where I put them. Yep on my front patch of grass. At least now they can be seen ! lol.
Thought: I wont have to paint the front for another couple of years !
Hugs and happy thoughts to you Craig !
    Love Helen
