Friends are like…

…Hi everyone, so how would you finish that sentence?

Check out the photo of a card I bought recently….

I reckon that just about says it all really!! Very appropriate too as the colour and theme are very much in line with QVC’s chosen charity, Breast Cancer Care. Always very much in focus in the month of October.

We all know someone who has been affected by this awful disease, friend or family member. I was trying to cast my mind back to my first memory of the impact and devastation of breast cancer, and I realised I was nine-years old and it was my mum’s best friend. My sister and I were both friendly with two of her four daughters. Sadly all of them (aged between six and twelve years old) were left without their mum and I remember not understanding exactly what the disease was, but looking at how crushed the family were by their loss.

Most certainly progress has been made over the years, but as long as people are suffering there is always more to be done. I think of our own amazing presenter Alison Keenan and her journey. I’ve also included a photo of my Italian friend Ginetta, who is just about to come through the other side thank goodness.

It’s so important that we show our support in whichever way we can. We have ways of doing that here at QVC… just follow the link above, but also it’s about being there for those as they travel along that path. Never underestimate the power of a hug and cuppa… some things in life you simply cannot put a price on.

To all of you who are involved in this journey… stay strong. To those of us who are blessed with good health, let’s count those blessings and remember to reach out to those who are struggling out there.

Lots of love to you all.

Anne xx

Hello Anne, Love reading your blogs. Yes we must always count our blessings. We all know of someone who have had this illness, and some who are still going through it. Keep up the good work that you do. You are a truly inspirational lovely lady. God bless you.
