For the love of laptops

CLUNK CLUNK WHIZZZ WHIRRR  – that’s the current sound of my ailing laptop. It’s about four years old, has a tiny 13″ screen, and gets hot and bothered and slow even after only a few minutes use. I love it, so I don’t want to send it to the laptop resting place in the sky, but it looks like the decision might be taken out of my hands soon.

Are you in the same situation? Have you been pondering about the one you’ve got at the moment? Junk it or  – if there’s still life in the old dog yet  – give it to your son or daughter, so you can treat yourself to a brand spanking new one? Well I might just have the answer for you this Saturday on QVC because I’ll be launching a superb laptop Today’s Special Value offer from Acer. It’s under £400, broken down into interest-free easy payments, so that’s already got me salivating. When you spot a good buy like this, it’s bonkers not to grab it, especially when you don’t want your old laptop to give up the ghost on you before you’ve got your new one. Who wants to be left without a laptop for a day. Or even a week? You need a smooth transition. Time to take all your photos and videos off the old one, and transfer it all over to the new one ASAP.

Our Acer Today’s Special Value laptop has got everything you need of a pure performance laptop: a good-sized screen at 15.6″, 1TB of hard drive, 8GB of RAM, a built-in webcam, a CD/DVD drive, a HDMI cable to plug it into the back of your telly, and it comes complete with Windows 10. All able to handle anything you throw at it: playing games, streaming TV shows and films, video blogging and Skypeing, you name it. So it’s going to be a very exciting midnight hour, packed with other great tech gadgets for me to show you, alongside tips on how to get the best out of them all from our range of technology experts. Remember that anything you buy you can open and use, get to grips with it all within the 30 day trial period. That’s really useful when it comes to technology because you need time to bed in with items like this, to get used to them. If you don’t like it, you can send it back and we’ll refund you that first easy payment. Simples!

Tasty protein-packed punch

Whilst I’ve been stepping up the exercise very slowly with my exercise bike and Wondercore Smart I’ve been making myself a lovely power-packed smoothie to drink after my workouts in my Nutri Ninja.

It’s one banana, a handful of strawberries, a cup of unsweetened almond milk, two cubes of fresh tofu and three chunks of ice. I really like experimenting with my Nutri Ninja: I don’t measure anything out, I just throw things in and pulse away. If what I make is too thick to drink, then I just add a bit more of the liquid in my recipe (be it coconut water, pomegranate juice or almond milk). Safe to say my Protein Puncher (as I call it) is utterly delicious and I feel triumphantly healthy whilst drinking it. My other favourite is my Turbo Charge Smoothie: a mix of celery, avocado, spinach, cucumber, pineapple, golden delicious apples and fresh lime juice.

If you’ve got a Nutri Ninja, why not give it a whirl. Or buy one from us, and try your own recipes for a change. Makes incorporating that 5-A-Day into your diet so much more fun.

This is a warning about Tech Crew so called help line. I bought an HP laptop a few months ago when they were on special price. We were told there was a 2 year help line from Tech Crew. All you do is ring them and they will sort your problems. My laptop failed to start so I rang TC. I received the best, expert, most professional run around you are ever likely to encounter. He spent 12 minutes repeatedly asking my name, email address and phone number and did not once ask what the problem was. He promised to call back but, as you can imagine, I like life too much to hold my breath that long! However, the good news is I contacted QVC and within minutes I was told my laptop would be collected and a complete refund given. So my afternoon went from total frustration and anger to total joy. I cannot praise QVC enough. Thank you so much. I have been a customer for some years but you have ensured this will continue. Thanks again.
