Five Sleeps To Christmas

Christmas cardsIs it really only five sleeps to Christmas? It suddenly seems to have come around very quickly after weeks of  building up to it. I am a little worried about how calm I am feeling and how organised…I must have forgotten something and will probably have a mad panic on Christmas Eve.

Thanks again to all of you who have been sending cards in, they have certainly made my dressing room more festive! I enjoyed my days off, particularly Sunday as Chris and I went to watch Daniel's Crystal Palace U10's play Fulham.

It was quite weird to be trekking off to football on a Sunday morning, something we used to do every week when Daniel was playing. One of the parents on the touch line asked who our boy was which I was quite chuffed about as I am easily old enough to be a grandparent to a child that age…maybe that's what he meant??!!

It felt good to be able to say the Manager was our son, particularly when the dad said what a good coach he is…proud mummy moment! Apparently David Beckham was there supporting his eldest boy Brooklyn in the U15's match, although I didn't see him, and Jose Mourinho's boy was in goal for the Fulham U13's but the 'special one' wasn't in attendance.

Monday and Tuesday was spent wrapping presents and boxing them up to send to Scotland and Nottingham, and dealing with stuff regarding the house…just waiting for the Survey report now…fingers crossed.

Then on Wednesday it was the Presenter lunch. As I've mentioned before, we don't all get to go to the same lunch as someone has to be on air so it was split over two days. The food went down well as you can see from these plates! I thought I'd set you a little fun competition as it's Christmas:

No dessert until you finish your sprouts!Q1: Who didn't like their sprouts?

a) Jackie Kabler
b) Ali Keenan
c) Kathy Taylor

More sprouts, please...Q2: Who asked for a side order of sprouts in addition to her meal?

a) Chloe Everton
b) Kathy Taylor
c) Debbie Flint

The salmon dish shortly after it arrived...Q3: Who polished off his salmon super quick?

a) Simon Biagi
b) Craig Rowe
c) Dale Franklin

It's just for fun…or maybe Santa will send you a little something if you guess all three correctly…

I'd better dash now as I'm on at 4pm today with Nails Inc. Remember you can still order with confidence for Christmas delivery until midnight tonight (Friday 20th) and everything on air is on three Easy Pays.

I hope you will join us tomorrow as well as it is our annual QVC Cares day – some of our big brands will be on air telling you about their chosen charities and you can help support them through your purchases.

Have a lovely weekend and a wonderful Christmas and join me on Boxing Day.

Love, Julia xx

    Hi Julia,
I saw you on screen early this morning with the great TSV – mm, I might be tempted! I love the Rose Gold one which isn’t me usually as I do prefer silver but it does looks fab.
Good to hear you had a Proud Mummy moment at the football – Daniel deserves it as he’s worked very hard to get to where he is. It’s especially good when people give unprompted praise!
In the just for fun competition, I think:
    Q1 it’s A, Jackie Kabler
    Q2 C – Debbie Flint
Q3 hard one this – but B, Craig Rowe?
I was trying to go by the nail varnishes on the first 2 but the last one was much harder!
Take care and a very Merry Christmas to you and your family,
    Beth XXX.

A very Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones Julia. And a great big sloppy kiss for Wilfy please!! All the very, very best for 2014 with your house move and especially your health which I sincerely hope goes from strength to strength.
I’m almost ready now. Unfortunately, despite trying to bribe Ali Young with a picture of my delicious homemade chocolate/hazlenut cake, Santa hasn’t brought me any Beauty Bash tickets this year, boo hoo!!
My guesses for your competition are:
    1. Ali Keenan
    2. Kathy Taylor
    3. Dale Franklin
Lots of love until next year!

    Hi Julia
Thank you so much for your card, Chris came racing upstairs with it saying it’s from Julia. Now how on earth did you know the card was from me…I wonder? Spotted it in the middle of your picture.
Hope you had a fantastic Christmas and Santa brought lots of pressies and what about Wilfy, are you glad you bought the shatterproof baubles?
How is your house progressing? I really don’t know how you have managed to move so many times, on the day of our move the soles my feet have never ached soo much, then I found the Vionic TSV slippers (in purple, of course) and they have not been off my feet since.
Wishing you, Chris, Daniel, Sophie, Poppy and Wilfy, also not forgetting all the little elves at QVC a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
    Annette x

    Hello Rose,
Sounds like you were very organised – hope you didn’t forget anything? I did the festive shop on Christmas Eve and was amazed at how quiet and well-stocked the supermarket was …. I think most people did it on the Monday when it was apparently mayhem!
Hope you had a good one and that 2014 will be kind to you

I wish you and all your family a Happy 2014 and Wilfy sends purrs for Elsa

    Hi Steve
Lovely to hear from you and hope you and yours had a great family Christmas. I can’t believe it is only 6 months since you all came to support me in the swimming gala … to me it seems much longer.
QVC are not going to be taking anymore stock of my book as they sold out of all the signed copies but you can now buy the hardback or the kindle version on Amazon or order it from any quality bookshop such as Waterstones. Those books are not signed but I’m sure we could sort something out!
I was in Nottingham on Sunday visiting my mum as we didn’t see her at Christmas but it was a flying visit.
My favourite Christmas song used to be Mariah Carey ‘All I Want fro Christmas’ BUT this year I have fallen in love with the Pogues/Kirsty McColl song …… what is your favourite?
Thanks again for the support at the gala and delighted to say that one of QVC’s chosen charities to support this coming year is Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Hope 2014 is a good year for you
    Julia x

    Hi Beth
I just replied to you on my last blog too ….. catching up on replies while I have a moment! I wonder if you treated yourself to the TSV tennis bracelet – pretty wasn’t it.
The third plate was indeed Craig but the first one was Ali K not Jackie I’m afraid.
    Speak soon

    Hi Annette
I replied to you on my previous blog (eventually) ….. real catch-up day today. Sounds like you got moved okay and hope your Christmas was relaxing after all the upheaval. Everything still on course for our move so long as we keep the pressure on with both sets of solicitors.
Glad you liked your card and thanks for yours.
The tree survived Wilfy, Milo and Oskar but I think the shatterproof baubles were the right decision.
    Happy & Healthy 2014
