I like to think of myself as a ‘glass half full’ kind of person (and it doesn’t always have to be full of wine, despite the jokes that naughty Richard Jackson always likes to make about me!). There’s so much negativity in the world and sometimes it does us good to count our blessings, even when times are tough. So today I thought I’d do a quick-fire list of things that have made me smile over the past week or so. I hope some of them make you smile too.
First, a beautiful sunset. I took this from my bedroom window in Gloucestershire. There’s no filter on it and no editing – that’s exactly what it looked like. Just stunning. How wonderful nature is!
Number two, sleeping on an airbed! For complicated reasons far too boring to go into here, hubby and I had to spend a night on a blow-up bed last weekend so we got to try the Aerobed we got from QVC for guests for the first time ourselves. Great fun, looks just like a proper bed when blown up and astonishingly comfortable!
Coming in at number three, a medal in the shape of a troll! I did a 10km run along the Thames last weekend as part of an event called “Can’t Stop the Running” and just look at the fabulous finisher’s medal. I’ve never had a medal with hair before – I love it!
At four, it’s the body pillow from Cozee Home. Quite simply the most comfortable, squishy, huggable pillow ever. I’m a big reader and it’s perfect for snuggling up with a book. Great gift, great self-gift!
And to finish off my top five, jumpers and boots! I’ve finally embraced autumn and put my summer gear to the back of the wardrobe and it’s making me very happy. I went out for dinner in my Ruth Langsford blazer and little red ankle boots from Bronx and it reminded me that autumn/winter fashion is definitely my favourite.
