Happy November! I do like November, the turn in the weather and the anticipation of Christmas. This year has been particularly nice as it’s been so mild in London. The fireworks are always fun.
My mum came to visit for a few days as she and my step dad are off travelling, again! They’re headed to India and New Zealand for a few months. Great for them but the kids will be sad not to see them at Christmas. So they came for a few days to spend time with them, which they loved. I do envy friends whose family all live close by and the kids get to grow up seeing their grandparents all the time. My mum lives in Wales, so time with the kids is sporadic. I’ve never had grandparents, and mine are so lucky to have them on both sides. Kids can never be loved too much right?
As my mum’s not here this year, we are thinking about having a quiet Christmas at home this year, with a possible trip to Halifax on Boxing Day, and it got me thinking about all the travelling lots of us do over the festive period. Car boot space is always limited. As well as all your luggage and stuff for the family, you’re also usually bringing presents and then bringing back received presents, so you want your bags to be organised. Also being away from home can be quite stressful, so it’s nice to have things with you that make you feel happy and put a smile on your face.
This bag from Kipling is the perfect size for a couple of nights away. And it comes with a shoe bag too. Two great colours to choose from and the fabulous Kipling fabric that means it’s built to last.
If it’s your make-up that needs condensing for a trip, then have a look at these from The Drawstring Cosmetic Bags. They are great bags to keep your make-up safely stored away but easy to access. I hate digging around searching for that one item, this makes life so easy! I have the rose gold option, which Izzy is eyeing up as she thinks her little toys would be happy in it! I think this colour option has sold out but there’s lots of other colours to choose from.
And if you want to update your current bag, I love this passport cover and luggage tag from Yes studio! I hear this phrase a lot, even on a ten minute trip to the supermarket! The colour clash is gorgeous. A brilliant gift for any seasoned travellers, or a fab way to update your favourite cases.
And for any little girl’s travelling this set is tooooo cute! Two bags for an incredible price! Who doesn’t love Care Bears? I remember watching and playing with these when I was little.
If you’re the one stuffed in the back with the bags all around you and you want to sleep for the journey then you need the J pillow! Currently this set also comes with an eye mask so it’s fab value and will make sure you snooze away the journey and don’t arrive with neck ache!
I always arrive at places hungry. The service station food, or aeroplane food isn’t great. So why not pack these Toppings Pies 10 Piece Hand Crafted Quiche Collection! They are insanely good!!! You could use a couple for the journey, and then gift the rest when you arrive. And if you’re looking for some healthier alternatives to crisps to snack on these fruit and vegetable crisps from Nims are perfect. Made in the UK they’re gluten and dairy free and vegan friendly too.
And an absolute must for travelling, when you’ve had enough of I-spy and listening to the football, if Scott’s driving he insists that he has radio control. Then grab an Amazon Fire Tablet and you can listen to audio books (reading in the car makes me travel sick) or you can download some movies and watch them on the go.
Wherever you’re going to, we definitely have something for everyone on our website, so make sure you take a peak, there’s new gems being added all the time.
And of course we have the new Big Deals that launch today, Monday 19th Nov. Perfect gift ideas! We’ve got the Samsung Galaxy Note Smartphone, a gorgeous Lulu Guinness scarf in a gift box plus an Eyeko Mascara and Brow Collection. Make sure you to take a look!
Thanks for reading my blog!
