Hey there! Firstly sorry my blog is a day late this week. I know I’ve mentioned it before but the end of term has been crazy busy and I just couldn’t squeeze everything in. Sometimes you just have to except that you have to drop one of those spinning plates from time to time. Today we are packing for a weekend camping at a mini festival, heading to Tilda’s Sports Day and getting Ivy to her settling in hours at school, which annoyingly is at the same time as Sports Day so we are practically splitting ourselves in two to try and get to everything.
I have to admit I am very much looking forward to getting to the camp site this evening where we have hired a bell tent that will already be set up when we arrive and just dump our bags and crack open a cider or two!! The sun is shining and it’s going to be a fab weekend.
So what have we been up to, well no surprise here, we’ve been spending time at the beach as always. How can you not when it’s practically free and it’s the best fun for the two of us and the kids. Digging holes is the best activity in the world, it keeps the kids happy and it can become anything that their imagination wants to make it. As you can imagine the beach has been crazy busy but thankfully where we go is always a little calmer and more space.
People visiting tend to go to nearer all the attractions by the pier at Bournemouth but you can hardly find a space so we are very pleased it’s much quieter in our little spot. I’m still getting so much wear out of my Phase Eight Swimsuit, I also make sure to wear my big brim hat from Pia Rossini to keep the sun off my face. This one is out of stock but I have my eye on a different one called the Gomez, so watch this space.
What I’ve been wearing – Live Unlimited dress.
I saw this dress backstage at QVC and I was instantly drawn to the colours so chose to wear it for Jewellery Day. The blues and teals just called to me as a Pisces and so I had to wear it. You know when you have found something good too because everyone stops you in the corridors and the studios to ask you who it’s by.
It’s from Live Unlimited and I think it’s really fabulous. It was also featured in Gok’s Closet last week and was very popular. It can be worn in more of a lose Kaftan style or you can pull it in at the waist with the tie belt which is included. You could also add different belts with it too. I wore red shoes with it to add another pop of colour. I think a red belt would also be a great way to break up the dress if you wanted to.
Blast from the past
I thought it might be fun to share some blasts from the past from time to time on here as I was going through old pictures recently and found some good ones. So my first one is actually with my fellow QVC presenter Alex Kramer. Did you know that Alex and I also worked together many years ago, in fact I think it’s at least 10 years!
We were both part of the ITV Play team and presented on the shows Glitterball and Make Your Play. It was before weddings, before kids and back when we could work ’til 4am without an issues, get a few hours sleep and get up and do another job the next day. I certainly wouldn’t have the energy to do that anymore that’s for sure. It was great fun and we have a lot of fun memories from those days. It was also really exciting when we gave away massive cash prizes to people.
What I’ve been buying – Lisa Snowdon earrings
You may have caught the Lisa Snowdon Jewellery show I did a few weeks ago, well I completely fell in love with the earrings that Lisa was wearing so I bought them myself. Many of you fell in love with them too as they sold out, however we do have them on Waitlist so if you love them too then get your name down so that you are first to get them when they come back in. They are yellow gold vermeil and are a beautiful shell on a hoop. I have been wearing mine non-stop, perfect summer styling!
5 Minutes with – Thea Green
I’ve been really enjoying doing these mini interviews over on my Instagram IGTV with some really interesting people at QVC and I plan to do many more! This week I managed to get 5 Minutes with Nails Inc Founder Thea Green. I have so much respect for Thea and what she has built with Nails Inc, she is also incredibly nice and someone that would be great fun to hang out with. Find out how she started Nails Inc but also what she gets up to when she’s not working including what she does to stay in shape. Click here to watch.
Right I have to love you and leave you now as I have to go and pack bedding, camping stoves and half the kids toys that they have piled up for us to take. It’s funny as soon as you question do they really need that many things to take with them that those toys become the most important things in the world and they can’t possibly live without them this weekend!
I shall of course share how we got on in next week’s blog.
Have a great weekend.
Love Katy x
