Every day is a journey …

Every day is a journey …

and this is what I’d like mine to look like.

I think it’s really important to learn something every day and thus the saying ‘you learn something new every day’ suggests we actually do. It’s good to expand your mind by pushing your own boundaries and beliefs.

I love it when you meet an interesting character from a different walk of life and come away from the conversation feeling invigorated by their company. Failing the opportunity to randomly meet unusual folk, then books are always a good wealth of new material. I prefer more mind-provoking literature as opposed to fiction but each to their own.

Kindle eReader

Either a tablet or Kindle is a great way to take learning on the go comes with a leather case and makes a great educational gift. You’ll discover more than you realised possible.

‘Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn’ … consider sometimes, which one serves you best

Wow this is a huge part of my life and I hope it always will be. Smiling rushes our bodies with healthy hormones and endorphins, which can boost immunity, fight disease and kill those negative thoughts and just makes us feel good.

Smiling changes your face and is contagious. Smiling is warm and will always serve you well in the future. The smile on my face doesn’t mean my life is perfect, it just means I appreciate what I have … which brings me on to the next part of the journey …

Appreciation and gratitude…

It’s good to have an attitude of gratitude. Sometimes even when your chips are down it’s good to focus on what’s going well in our life, otherwise we are consumed and focused on the bad. Worry is a misuse of imagination so, if you’re a worrier, find something else to focus on because overthinking only leads to negative thoughts.

Keeping a gratitude diary is good too. Keep it simple and when you wake up jot down three things you’re grateful for, it will start to make a difference when you focus on small positive things.

It’s not happy people who are thankful but thankful people who are happy.

Laughing and making others laugh …

I love making people laugh, it gives me immense pleasure. Sometimes, with a little laughter, you can change somebody’s entire day in an instant. All that I’m after is a life full of laughter because laughter is the fireworks of the soul!

They alway say laughter is the best medicine, often this isn’t far from the truth. Don’t take life too seriously unless you really have to.

Enjoyment of eating …

One of my most favourite things in the world is eating, it’s very important to me. Not simply because it fuels our bodies but because I love food, especially good food. I tend to eat everything, as in I’m not a fussy eater, but I’m somewhat of a savoury fiend.

When I have food shows at QVC I feel like the mothership is calling me home. Check out some of our luxury food brands on QVC UK. I won’t be impressed with technology until I can download food and, if we weren’t supposed to have night time snacks, why is there a light in the fridge?!

Clean and lean is the motto for food generally. Check out the Lean and Clean cook book and look out for Christianne Wolff’s The Body Rescue Plan coming back on air in the new year.

bkr water bottle

And just a quick note: we all need to drink more water. To help encourage you there’s Bkr products, which are adored by the celebs. They have their own silicone sleeves and plenty of colours to choose from and encourage us to hydrate … after all, the human body is up to 60% water!

Exercise …

Well essentially this allows me to eat more! … True, but I do get lots of pleasure from it. Exercise helps to get the circulation going, the heart pumping, the joints moving and the muscles activated.

Mostly though, I believe the benefits to our mentality are incredible, the après exercise feeling is fuelled with endorphins and makes us more productive and positive. So, if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.

This doesn’t mean you need to start running marathons, but we can all move more, even if it’s Pilates, stretching, yoga: there’s an entry point for everyone. If you’re going to get moving more there’s lots of ways to do it; from our Fitbits and gadgets to our great value entry level leg and arm bike. Also, check out our new athleisure range from PureLime … love it!

Relaxation …

With a job like mine and the hectic lives many of us lead, relaxation plays a key role. Take time to wind down, de-stress and let the body heal and recover. Sleep plays a massive roll in well being, we know this as fact.

What we do in the evenings in the run-up to bedtime shapes the quality of sleep we get. Allow yourself to indulge in some rituals; from spa baths with Elemis or Decleor, to This Works products that focus on calming the mind and body.

Friends and family …

This part is key. Your tribe, as I like to call them, they fill your world with joy, they support you and love you … without them we’d be lost. Cherish yours, get in contact regularly and appreciate them plenty.

Well that’s me. Let me know what you’d add to your personal journey? I love to read the comments.

Hi Chloe, you sound like Jill franks! Of course it’s all correct, it’s just more difficult to fit it all in that it sounds! Good for you if you’ve got the balance though! Look forward to more teddy photos x

I agree with all the sentiments particularly appreciating what and who you have in your life. Everyday I try to think of and appreciate all I have – my health, my dogs and friends. Sadly over recent years I have lost all but one of my family but I have my dogs who give me love, fun and also introduced me to a circle of friends through agility. I feel very blessed that four furry friends have made such a difference to my life they are all rescue dogs I have given them a home but they have given me so much more.

We should always appreciate what we have, glad you’re feeling it. I will try to post more photos of Teddy Susan – maybe even a blog totally about him.
