As per usual we are charging along at a pace!
It’s birthdays galore for our family this time of year and just last week, my youngest entered double figures!! Goodness me how the time flies, and how the twists and turns of life take you along paths you never envisaged, it is a constant adventure!
This year Ophelia had a netball party and my son Myles had some friends over to celebrate his birthday by watching a movie a couple of weeks before.
Both sound vastly different but my ears were ringing for hours after both! I don’t think the boys heard one word of the movie, they shouted virtually all the way through and every now and then appeared for either more food, or to terrorise my daughter and her friend who were hanging out in another room.
The 15 girls for the netball party were just as bad!
They didn’t stop to draw breath whether playing netball or eating afterwards … which by the way was more like feeding time at the zoo!
Suffice to say that coming to work recently feels like finding peace for my ears! I brought Ophelia’s Steiff bear Lizzie with me the other day as she was worried that Lizzie was getting lonely sitting on her bed all day whilst she was in school.
About six months ago Lizzie started to talk (yes, that’d be me) and she has now developed a full on character and even richer relationship with her “Mummy”.
Lizzie nearly ALWAYS gets to hear any worries or woes before I do (so it’s a good job it’s me doing the voice so I’m always in earshot!)
Now before I forget, I have a Supersize Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream to give away (remember also we have an amazing Elemis Today’s Special Value coming up this weekend on Sunday 16th November).
So if you would like to be in with the chance of winning the supersize Marine Cream, read on …
Recently on air, I have been talking about a book I picked up from my grandmother’s collection, which I inherited a number of years ago. It’s the Daily Mail Annual for Girls, priced 9/6 … so we would be calling it vintage methinks!!
There are so many fabulous things in there, ranging from fashion advice – wear bright colours in your teens because you won’t be able to get away with colour like that in your twenties, to how to show your dog. Fabulous tips and delightfully different to what is written these days!
Funnily enough when I worked in radio, I co-hosted a show for a few years with a writer who had previously written for Bunty at the time that I would have been reading it! How I used to love my annual for girls each year; they all seem branded by TV shows these days so you don’t quite get the content in the way we used to in annuals and comics.
I thought a fun question in order to win Elemis prize would be this:
The key ingredient for Pro-Collagen Marine Cream was found under the sea just off the coast of Malta on a vehicle.
A: A train
B: A helicopter
C: A ship
Answers below as a comment please before Monday 24th November and I will announce the winner during my three hour gem show with Dale at 1pm that day … don’t worry I will also put the winner here on the blog!!
