I’m sure it can’t have escaped your notice that this Sunday sees the much anticipated Elemis Today’s Special Value, which I’ll tell you more about later in this blog but just to say I have been trying out the new fragrance of Warm Tonka and Vanilla and as you can see from the picture I’ve been rather enjoying it. That photo is after several showers and a luxurious bath but your product will of course be full when you receive it! I’ve noticed on social media that lots of you have already had yours after ordering early and are loving the new fragrance as much as me – as I say, more on the contents and incredible price of this collection later on.
It’s been another action packed week for me, starting on Saturday with a trip to the firework display at Ascot Racecourse followed by an Indian takeaway dinner to allow Sophie’s boyfriend Reece to see the new kitchen/dining/family room now that it is finished. He was very impressed with all our hard work as was my friend, Nat, when she visited on Sunday.
I invited her over not only to see the finished building work but also to watch the Chelsea v Palace game. The less said about the football the better. We have some incredibly talented players on our team, Wilfie Zaha and Aaron Wan Bissaka in particular, but we need a striker and maybe some fresh ideas. Moan over! Nat brought me this white phalaenopsis orchid because she knows I like them and Chris treated me to the pot, which I love.
Monday was a writing day for me and most of Tuesday morning until the new sofa bed for the attic/writing room arrived. We have been searching for a sofa bed for a while that we would be able to get up two flights of stairs, both with turns in them. We had carefully measured the space available against the size of the delivery box and also worked out how it could be ‘juggled around’ to get it in. Let me just say it was very tight and thanks to the delivery men for their perseverance. I think it looks great and, as you can see, it has the Wilfie seal of approval. I wasn’t even aware that we sold Habitat until fashion expert, Glen Campbell mentioned it live on air when we were talking about the popularity of velvet, so I checked our website when I got home and spotted it now only available in the orange.
Good proportions, perfect colour and free!!! Well not exactly free… let me explain. QVC have awarded those of us who have been with the company for 20 or 25 years vouchers, and I elected to spend mine at QVC. It’s lovely to have something tangible to remind me of my years at QVC and I also treated myself the the Culinary Concepts octopus bowl, that I have been hanging my nose over for the past year or so. That hasn’t actually arrived yet but will look fab as a fruit bowl on the kitchen work surface.
So Wilfie is loving curling up for a snooze on the new sofa bed but he’s not quite so sure about his new Cozee Home bed yet. In fairness, he only got it last night and he’s not a fan of change, but I know he’ll love it eventually as he adores snuggling into our slankets. At least Jinxie (the toy cat) likes it and if you’re looking for a Christmas present for your cat or dog they will be on air next week.
Back to the sofa for a moment; you may have noticed the cushion in the centre which was a present from Chris’s mum after she had read my first novel, Life’s a Beach and Then… All of my books to date have been self-published but not all of them will be in the future. I still can’t say too much, until it is officially announced, but the secret I’ve been wanting to share with you (that some of you had guessed) is that I have signed a three book deal with an award-winning publisher. The finalised contract actually arrived on Tuesday but I put off signing it until Wednesday as it was a new moon and that is supposed to be the most auspicious time for starting new projects. I’m pretty chuffed to have secured my first deal for my novels at the grand old age of 62 – as I said to Simon Wilson on air yesterday, age is just a number!
Talking of Simon, I hope you all enjoyed Jewellery Day yesterday and are looking forward to a fabulous weekend of Christmas shopping. Because of the glorious autumn we’ve been having, I don’t think we’ve realised that Christmas is creeping up on us – it’s less than seven weeks away now. I took this photo of the acer in our back garden before the leaves start to fall – spectacular isn’t it?
I mentioned the Elemis TSV at the beginning of this blog, but what’s in the box?
Well, firstly there are two fragrance options, the much loved Frangipani and the new Warm Tonka & Vanilla I mentioned earlier. Vanilla can be a bit foodie and overpowering but this is quite subtle and is in my opinion, unisex.
As well as a supersize of the Micellar Water cleanser, my favourite micellar that we sell on QVC, there is a 30ml size of the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream and 15ml of the Oxygenating Night Cream (another fave of mine). For the body, whichever fragrance you choose, there is the aforementioned Bath & Shower Milk, the Oil Rich Body Cream and the Hand & Nail Balm. It’s a gorgeous Christmas gift idea and a great price at under £47 for £168 of value. There’s even a second smaller gift box if you want to divide it into separate gifts and it’s on 4 Easy Pays.
And so they don’t feel left out, there is also a fabulous Elemis men’s collection with a choice of either the Shave Gel or the Beard Oil, which has been tried by a member of my family and he loves it. It’s going to be a busy old day on Sunday and I do hope you will join Keeley and myself for our 5pm show.
Must dash for my 3pm show of Kim & Co, although I think her brilliant TSV has already sold out.
