Doggy training delights and buy the Liz Earle deal!

See below for an early bird order link and preview of this Sunday’s new Liz Earle six-piece Indulge Your Senses Beauty Gift Collection Today’s Special Value offer, and watch out for the Gtech AirRam Mk2 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner offer on Saturday! But first…

What a hoot we had this week when my yoga pal in Devon, Jennie, took us along to her local doggy training arena run by clever Liz from Woodhead Woofers. One of my oldest pals Gill (with whom I went to Iceland, if you’re a regular you may recall) was staying with me this week, so she came along and kindly took care of Gracie whilst I guided Daisy through the obstacles and a long black tunnel – well, I tried to! Take a look at this funny video – and check out how she begins! Hehe!

It was difficult getting my two to do something they’ve never done before – a proper TiFFT* for them (and me!) getting them to place their paws onto various surfaces and hold them there to get a treat. They were fine with ‘stop’ and ‘wait’ as they know those words, but ‘go go go’ to get them through the tunnel was new and was again a bit of an unknown quandary to them. BUT it was such fun! They were completely zonked after, for hours! So were Gill and I! lol. I liked Liz’s approach and she seems very much into trusting your instincts when it comes to taking care of your dog, and gave Gill some fab tips about how to handle her own little pooch. Hope to go again – at least until Alix comes back from Oz and we resume our Tuesday get-togethers. I do like to do new things!

More doggy fun on a lovely blustery walk down in the Sheepwash Meadow near me in Devon, when fab pal Christina joined us during her week with me, as did one of my guests, Pauline. Down in the meadow it was very muddy and slippery however. This meant that poor Gracie had a bit of a mishap… on my Facebook page this week, the vlog of the week tells what happened – go here to watch it! Also, don’t forget to ‘like’ the page to see the updates as we go through the week – I often add early bird order links to social media first and exciting One-Time-Only’s that are about to happen when I’m on live TV, so it’s worth it!

Gracie recovered soon after – she’s a loving and lovable little hound, and I’m very lucky to have her and Daisy – they are game for anything! Like their ‘mother’!

Little Phoebe and me

My lovely daughter Lauren’s little baby Phoebe has put on a pound! All is going well and I’m looking forward to seeing them all next week during my Devon week. This was when I got my first hold – can’t wait to have her in my arms again. She’s a good girl by all accounts and Lolly and her hubby are doing everyone proud, they’re enjoying parenthood so much!

Sheepwash Shark

Sheepwash Shark doo doo doo doo d’do, sheepwash shark doo doo doo doo d’do, sheepwash shark doo doo doo doo d’do, sheepwash shark… (know what I’m referring to? A really annoying kid’s vid on YouTube doing the rounds on social media and a true earworm (it won’t go away!). Well there’s literally a shark shape on the roof next to me in Sheepwash and it’s weird. Presumably someone wants to scare the birds? Well two birds were perched on top of it, so not sure it’s working but it certainly adds character! Meanwhile I’m hoping little Blake, who I saw on Friday (now nine months and soooo cute!), doesn’t get into that song. She’s such a delight and grinned her little two toothed grin at her pa, she loves her daddy so much and I love her! Along with my boy and my girl! Clever kids and have made me very proud. This is going to be a lovely phase in my life.

Throwback Thursday

Just after I’d had Lauren I got a job on 31 West, a nightly entertainment show where we interviewed celebs. Well this appeared on Facebook this week in the BSB group – it’s from the famous Dr Who weekend we recorded in the old Marco Polo building (now gone but which housed QVC until six years ago) when it was the home of British Satellite Broadcasting, before it joined with Sky and our channel ceased in 1990. Shyama Perera and I hosted the whole weekend of programming in September 1990, which was groundbreaking in its day featuring lots of old footage – the type of thing people take for granted nowadays, but some of the episodes of old Dr Who’s hadn’t been seen for years. Google it to find out more and maybe see some clips – it was called 31 Who and I looked like this. Ahhh bless me!

Blooper – the one where Fiona made a boo boo!

Lovely Fiona from Decleor had a little moment during our show this week – funny! I’m saying nutheeeeeng!

Book of the Week

Remember The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared? By Jonas Jonasson? Quirky, made into a film in 2013 and subtitled, currently on Amazon Prime for free – going to watch it soon! Well… I just found out there’s a sequel! Now I liked other books by Jonasson, the Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden. I liked better than Hit Man Anders. tbh, but I’m giving this sequel a go as The Hundred-Year-Old Man definitely left me wondering what happened next! If you like having an author who you can enjoy across several novels and you like to be surprised, try these. Both Hundred-Year-Old books are highly reviewed too. Cool! Another one for my audible app!

So many fab films to see and First Man is the favourite at the moment – Ryan Gosling (superb actor, loved him since LaLa Land) plays Neil Armstrong on that first famous flight to the moon around 50 years ago. The trailer looks fab and I like to see any film he is in, if I can fit it in, so maybe this weekend I’ll get the chance! Let me know if you’ve seen it. I recall being little and being in the school where my dad was a caretaker, watching moon landings on the old black and white TV on stilts that they used to use for class programs – remember? Yes, that makes me feel old too! I love period pieces so this biopic is going to be great.

Next week’s highlights

Seriously no more KitchenAid, I’ve bought a TSV and two big deals this year. Best by far and most unexpectedly is the mini chopper, used most days! Hoping that the Vionic’s are the ones that were hiding in the background when you had a briefing a few months ago with the ruching.
