I hope all’s well, as usual.
I returned to the Q this week after a very pleasant family holiday in beautiful north Devon. We stayed in the charming village of Croyde, complete with it’s stone thatched cottages and pubs but with the benefit of a glorious wide sandy beach bathed by the Atlantic ocean and mountainous sand dunes to it’s rear and to top it all off rocks to one side providing stunning rock pools and crabs!
Not surprisingly there is a very active surfing vibe in Croyde with many surf schools in the area. One thing I wasn’t prepared for was the stunning ocean sunsets. The beach faces due west and it’s a truly wonderful place to see the sun dip below the Atlantic horizon – I made a time lapse of it setting and took photos each night of the varied sunsets. I’ve also included a quick time-lapse blast down to the beach.
Toby is absent from many photos as he unfortunately lost another claw midway through our break (a lifelong problem for him) which prevented him going on long walks with Ellie, but I’m pleased to say with plenty of TLC he’s made a quick recovery and is now enjoying their walks together again.
Obviously we were so lucky with the UK heatwave and when the weather is this good, it really makes you appreciate our beautiful land. Followers of my Twitter and Instagram accounts (@DaleFranklinTV) will have seen my photos but I thought I’d share again here, in case you hadn’t seen them.
This Saturday sees the return of Jewellery Day and I’m pleased to be presenting three hours on the day. First up is an hour of Discovering Gems at 5pm with expert guest Mark Walker. Mark is a veritable fountain of knowledge when it comes to gemstones and we’ll be showcasing African amethyst, Ethiopian opal, tanzanite, Zambian emeralds, blue topaz, rubies, aquamarine and of course diamonds – prices start from around £35!
Back on again at 7pm with Honora Ming Pearls with guest Lee Clark. These exquisite Ming pearls are a specialist variety for Honora and offer fantastic value if you’re looking for an impressive pearl with prices starting from around £30.
Mark Walker and I return again at 9pm for an hour of Luxury Jewellery featuring a wonderful collection of diamond, blue and pink sapphire, AAAA grade tanzanite gems together with some diamond cut 14ct gold pieces – prices start from around £250.
There is also the little matter of England playing in a World Cup Quarter Final but that will have finished before my first hour and you’ll be assured of my full attention!
Hope you can catch one or all of the above and may you continue to enjoy this balmy weather!
P.S Don’t forget your Ultrasun 😉
Till next time stay relaxed and sparkling!
