Delivery for Julia

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend? Although I was working I did manage to have some family time, which was especially nice as Daniel had come home on Friday evening to spend the weekend with us.

Actually he has seen quite a lot of the M4 over the last few days as he had to drive back to Swansea on Monday to take training on Tuesday before driving back home ready for his young Swans v young Eagles match on Wednesday. It must have been a little strange for him to have his old team, Crystal Palace, playing his new lads, Swansea City, but I guess it is something he will have to get used to in professional football.

Unfortunately I couldn’t go and watch as I wasn’t feeling too well on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was only a migraine but I haven’t had one for a while and you forget just how debilitating they can be. Chris suggested going out for a walk on Tuesday to get some fresh air as it was such a lovely day.

Yankee Candle

We were only out for about forty-five minutes so imagine my surprise when we got home to find two parcels from QVC sitting on my doorstep. Even more surprising was the fact that one box contained the Yankee Candles I ordered on Easter Saturday, I’m already burning Wild Pansies, which is gorgeous, and the other parcel was the Stretch Hose TSV from Easter Sunday! I was very impressed with the speedy service.

I haven’t tried the hose yet but if this warm dry weather continues I may have to try it out this weekend. It will also come in handy for washing the car although I will be trying the sample of Greased Lightning car cleaner I was given over the weekend first… always assuming there is any left!

Car bonnet

I only brought it home on Sunday and got back from work on Monday to see a positively sparkling red Mini on the driveway. Sophie had decided to clean her car for the first time in months, so you can imagine how dirty it was, but Greased Lightning, the water-free car cleaner, really had delivered a showroom shine as promised! We are both going to try Wet and Forget on our respective soft tops next to complete the car rejuvenation.

Talking of Monday evening, I managed to get home from QVC in record time so I was able to watch the whole of the second half of the match between Palace and Man City. We were already a goal up, much to the surprise of all the pundits, and then went 2 – 0 up after a wonder free kick from Jason Puncheon. In fairness Man City had over 70% possession but it’s the result and the points that count in the end. I hope my professor at the hospital is still speaking to me as he is a massive Man City fan!

As usual on a Friday I will be heading in to work shortly. I’m a little earlier than normal today as I have a 3pm show of Attitudes by Renee featuring the TSV, which has already been selling well. I am so looking forward to seeing Renee as she really is a lovely person.

Fashion on Friday today is Bob Mackie … Carlo Lazlo is becoming a very regular guest at 5pm on Fridays, which is fine by me as we have a great rapport. It is then my weekend off, such a shame as once again I will be missing Keeley from Elemis and her TSV on Sunday … maybe I’ll be having some more QVC deliveries next week!

I will however be in on Tuesday for Diamonique Day. If you watch me this afternoon you may just notice a sneak preview of Tuesday’s TSV ring… ssshhh, I didn’t tell you.

Let’s hope this beautiful spring weather continues for the weekend.

Much love,

Julia xx

P.S. Did any of you do this for your children or grandchildren on Sunday? Before I left for work, and while a Luscious Lemon Cake was baking in the oven, I hid some chocolate eggs in the garden for my children to find… they are 27 and 28 years old but enjoyed it anyway! Jackie Kabler tweeted that she wished she was one of my kids!

    Hi Julia,
Sorry to hear you haven’t been too good, hope you are better now. You mentioned Migraine, the dreaded, I found when we had the frosty mornings and the sun was low a few weeks ago, I would get the zig zag migraine, my daughter Heidi gets awful Migraines, and is really bad with them. They are not nice for anyone. Have you tried the 4head stick you can get in the chemist, it is great for when you have a bad head, they are nice and small to keep in your handbag, and if you keep them in the fridge, they are so cool for your forehead.

I expect it was nice to have Daniel home, he is keeping busy with his football.

I love Sophie’s car, and the colour is great. You showed the Easter eggs you hid for them, why not we are all kids at heart. Oh Lemon cake, don’t you are making me hungry, I love Lemon cake.

You mentioned Mr. selfridge, yes you are right there was to much happening at the end. I believe there is going to be another series, got to be they cannot leave it there, and keep us all in suspense, I miss that programme.

Your Wild Pansy candle sounds lovely. The stretch hose I got one a while ago, they are brilliant.

    Anyway you take care.
    Love Jean XX

      Hello Jean
I think maybe I escaped lightly with my migraine – quite a few of the staff at QVC have had the flu bug Sophie had a couple of weeks ago including a couple of the presenters. I seem to have had a bit of a croaky voice but managing to keep going. A busy few days ahead but then have a week off.
It was lovely to have Daniel here – over a week in total – and he really enjoyed spending time with Wilfie.
I haven’t tried the hose yet but I expect it will get plenty of use in the summer.
The wild pansy candle is burning as I write.
Hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine

When you try out the hose make sure you have wet gear on I tried mine and the spray gun flew off three times soaking me and when I checked the reviews online its a common problem so Im surprised QVC are still selling it Very disappointed!!!!!

      Hi Chris
Thanks for your feedback. I can’t comment as I haven’t tried it yet but I hope you made use of your thirty day money back guarantee if you were dissatisfied?
I’ll let you know how. Get on

    Hi Julia,
I have every sympathy with you having suffered from migraine myself over the years. Have you tried burning a Lavender candle or essential oils on a tissue or pillow? I’m glad to say that since finishing nursing my migraine attacks have abated. It was all the stress and responsibility of the job that brought on the attacks. So it is not one of the things I miss about nursing!
You picked the wrong time for your visit to Wales. It was lovely and sunny this past week but it was quite chilly when we went to Porthcawl on Thursday. It was also very busy there as it was half term. It was the busiest we had seen it for a long time. I must say I am looking forward to going there next week when the little darlings are back in school. Let’s hope the weather stays nice and hopefully a little warmer. All the best, speak soon – Tina S. x

      Hi Tina
I felt a bit sorry for Daniel missing the lovely sunny South Wales weather last week – he says it has rained most days since he moved down there but that could be an exaggeration!
I have been using the lavender pillow spray which helps me sleep but hasn’t done a lot for my headaches. I think it must be stress – a bit too busy really with all the last minute stuff to prepare for my book coming out.
I think the children are back a school on Monday so you will have Porthcawl to yourselves!
      Speak soon

Dear Julia, I have been watching you since QVC started and feel I know you! You are a very professional presenter and I love reading your blogs. I have been following the progress of Crystal Palace because of you. I know how you feel when they win because my better-half and I started supporting our local team 3 years ago. We are a village team in Northern Ireland who have just secured our fourth season in the northern Ireland premiership! Kyle Lafferty, Roy Carroll and Andy Little all started in our youth teams! Incidentally we were 50 years married on 13th March and celebrated the evening by driving to Belfast to watch an away game in the freezing cold! No fool like an old fool! Keep well. Love Mavis

    Hello Mavis
How lovely to know that you have been watching QVC from the start and thank you for your kind comments.
I am really chuffed that you look out for Crystal Palace’s results – as a Footie fan yourself you know how passionate I feel about them.
Congratulations on 50 years married. Your celebration of it reminded e of the time I went to watch Palace on Valentine’s Day, not with Chris but with my two children – he was not amused!
Keep watching the Q ad supporting your team
    Julia x
