Counting down the days!!

Misty and BrambleHello! Exciting times ahead (and no doubt some chaos as well!)

Our latest members of the family join us in a few days time when we collect our Cairn terrier puppies. They are just delicious. We have finally settled on names… I've never known discussions quite like it in the Brook household. It was, in fact, driving me a little crazy!

They're sisters and are about 8 weeks old now. We've named them Misty and Bramble!

Thank you for all the advice I've been receiving – more is always welcome! I was a little nervous at the prospect of two dogs. Why, I don't know? As a child, at one point, in the family home we had two dogs, three cats, a budgie, a parrot, a rescued Kestrel, not to mention fish as well! So I think we'll be fine.

Anyway, any doubts were soon laid to rest after lots of research and discussions! I'll have more photos for you on my next blog and hopefully some video too. In fact I'm currently trying out a Today's Special Value offer which is coming up… more on that next time.

Dare I mention Christmas is a matter of weeks away?! Where has this year gone? It's simply flown by. So far, I've been doing fairly well with my Christmas shopping. I bought a couple of Lola Rose designs over the weekend and a little while ago a Charlie Bear for my daughter. Hope your plans are going well.

Now that we have two bundles of joy coming home in a few days, we'll be staying home this Christmas. Do you think our presents will stay intact under the tree or are Misty and Bramble likely to do some early unwrapping for us? I'd better start puppy-proofing the home!

Take care and see you soon.

Charlie x

    Hi Charlie,
Double Trouble, they look adorable I did leave a message before I currently have a Cairn called Radley, He’s also Brindle in colour, my other two Cairns who sadley passed away were such fun together they were like a old married couple, they would groom each other and have hours of fun, I wish you and your family many happy times together with Misty and Bramble.

    Morning Charlie.
Oh Misty and Bramble look sooo adorable. They remind me of when I brought Bella home for the first time [ she was alot darker then]and very tiny like your little one’s. Don’t forget to use “puppy pads” I couldn’t have been with-out them. Expensive but boy they save the floor. The first time she saw the xmas tree was hilarious now she loves looking at the lights.
I agree ” where has the time gone ?? Christmas is nearly here. I’m well on the way to finishing all of 40ish christmas cards with one winging it’s way to you with a photo of Bella in one of her christmas togs. Will look forward to the new AD:
Have lots of fun with Misty and Bramble.
Love Debby and whoof from Bella

Hi Charlie what adorable puppies. My brother recently got two labradoodle pups and having two has made everything so much easier training wise. They amuse each other and also love playing with their other 1 year old American bulldog and my 1 year old Jack Russell. The puppies think she is their soft toy and her ears and legs are often to be seen being chewed on by the puppies. My brother had a dog flap installed in the back door and from day one they have let the self out to do what dogs have to do. Enjoy your puppies as they grow up so quickly. Look forward to hearing about how they are getting on. Tina

Congratulations to you and your family re:cairn terriers. My very first dog was a cairn called Tina. I was still at school and when i got home that day i was made to close my eyes and hold my hands out then this furry puppy was laid in them. I was overjoyed.Did not want to go to school the next day. Tina and i become very good friends. You will all have such great times with your new bundles of fun. Best wishes to you and the family.

Hi Christina, wow, what an amazing surprise after school. We’re collecting our pups at the weekend so my children have 2 days until they go back to school…. However I know they’ll be reluctant Monday morning!
It sounds like you and Tina were the best of friends.

Hi Charlie, your new additions look beautiful. In April this year we too welcomed a cairn into our home, previously we had a westie for 14 years and she sadly died in January leaving a big hole in our lives. Our cairn, known as Lily, is amazing. She is a bundle of fun and loves the children, she makes me smile every time I look at her, enjoy, and don’t worry, the toilet training is soon over!

    Hi Charlie,
Love the puppies they will delight you and your family and I am glad you have two as they love to play and tumnble together, I know I have to Westhiglands white terriers they, like, the Cairn are little dogs with a great big personality, mine are sisters also called Poppie & Beau. They bring us so much fun. My grown up daughter asked if they were children substitutes, my answer was “”Don’t be so rediculous of course they are”” Enjoy them and be patience with training and teething, but they are clever litle dogs a easy to train. Hello Susan, thanks for your lovely reply. I love West Highland White Terriers… Thing is, I don’t think they’d keep their white coat white for too long in our garden!
    Kind regards
