I hope all’s well with you all, as always!
Many thanks to all who entered my Vax Air Cordless Lift Vacuum competition – I can announce we have a winner and congratulations go to Denise Wilden and we’ll be sending the prize to you very soon. I hope you will enjoy using it! Look out for more competitions in the future.
Toby (my bearded collie) has been to the groomers today and it was hilarious to see the ‘moody’ that Ellie performed – she obviously thought he was going for a walk without her, but as soon as he returned she knew exactly where he’d been as he smelt so clean!
I went to a Golf Driving Range with a difference this week with Ali and Jack in an attempt to try and take their minds off their impending A level results. The place was called ‘Top Golf’ and the experience can best be described as golf meets ten pin bowling. Great fun and it seemed to do the trick in taking their minds off results. To be fair they’ve been quite cool about it all, as they know that worrying doesn’t change a thing – easier said than done ! I’m sure they’ll not sleep much on Wednesday evening.
The Lunchtime Show
I’m co-presenting ‘The Lunchtime Show’ again with Jackie Kabler this week and for those of you who may have missed our fun-filled show a couple of weeks ago, take a look at the blooper below. The reference to “bear hands” are as a result of Jackie having a dream which I appeared in dressed in a bear costume! You couldn’t make it up !
As mentioned last week I was down at my mum’s enjoying the Sussex sunshine and she showed me a poster from the Wrigley’s Doublemint Chewing Gum TV adverts she and her twin sister appeared in – I think they ran from about 1968 into the early 70’s. It brought back very pleasant memories for me – I think I was around 8 or 9 at the time and Wrigley’s (knowing mum had 3 sons) used to generously send regular chewing gum shipments for us – you can imagine how popular I was at school !
I don’t know if mum knew, but my brother Darren and I used to swap all sorts of things at school in return for a pack of ‘Juicy Fruit’ – we kept the Doublemint for ourselves! It was well worth the teasing we got for having a mum on the telly. By the way my Auntie June is on the left and mum (Pat) is on the right hand side. They wouldn’t get away with that slogan these days!
Till next week take care and keep chewing !
