Hey there! Thanks for stopping to read my blog. I hope you are staying nice and warm and that the weather hasn’t caused too much disruption where you are?
I feel like Christmas has suddenly ramped up it’s speed to get here. I was actually quite organised a few weeks ago and I was feeling a little smug. I should know by now that that is what happens to me every year. I get ahead of the game and then relax! To be fair though, the kids are sorted, Fred is sorted and so is my dad but there are a lot more I still need to order for. My mum just took delivery of our Christmas meat hamper from Green Seasons, so that’s one thing we can tick off. There will be 12 of us this year so we will be doing the Turkey, the beef and the ham all together, plus the trimmings. What will you be cooking this year?
Last week my friend Anna and I took the kids to Weymouth Sealife Centre to visit their Santa’s Grotto. It was so festive and worth the trip. The kids were all very satisfied that this was indeed the ‘real’ Santa and not just one of the stand-ins that ‘helps Santa out in his busy season’!! It was a really lovely experience complete with elves to greet us and take us through to Santa’s wood cabin. Anna and I even got to sit on Santa’s lap. Much to the kids’ amusement!
Aside from Christmas prep I have been busy trying out the Dyson V8 Absolute, which is the Today’s Special Value on Saturday 16th December, and I thought I would do you a video this week to show you how I got on with it. Speed Cleaning videos have become a bit of a phenomenon on YouTube so I’ve done it in that style, you can see me whizzing about and have a nosy around my little house too!!
I honestly don’t know why I didn’t get one of these ages ago, it really suits the way we live and how we are constantly having to get brushes and pans out and the big vacuum to clean up after the kids. It makes so much more sense to just grab the Dyson and it’s clean in a flash. Let me know if you like the video and I will try and do them more often for you.
If cleaning isn’t something that peaks your interest then perhaps the Lulu Guinness Retro Radio will. I love music and I love Lulu Guinness so it didn’t take much to convince me that this would be a winner! It’s coming to us this Thursday (14th December) as the Today’s Special Value and it’s gorgeous!
There will be two limited edition styles including this one and there’s no mistaking that fabulous Lulu character kooky face, the red lips, the retro style and wink, I love it. Of course it’s practical too as you will be able to listen to your favourite radio stations plus many more new ones that you might not have discovered yet via DAB. The sound is excellent and it looks so good out on the side in your home too. Perhaps this is the perfect treat for someone special or a treat for yourself to fill the house with music this Christmas. Even the leather lips tag on the side says ‘Dance Til You Drop’ on it!
I do love to find slightly different and unusual items at QVC, I also like to surprise people when they ask where something is from by telling them it’s QVC. We have some really fabulous fashion pieces at the moment and I love to share them here on my blog with you so do drop in to see what I’ve found.
I am loving the Isaac Mizrahi sequin jumper, and so are you guys too judging by the number of Tweets I got about it. We also do it in Grey. I am a size 12 and I have the Medium.
Next up is the BEST.SKIRT.EVER.FACT!!! It’s a full taffeta party skirt from Ronni Nicole and the best bit….IT’S GOT POCKETS!!! I love it so much, I can’t wait to wear it over Christmas. Yes it’s dressy but you can also dress it down with casual a T-shirt and even trainers, but if you are partying then go all-out glam, heels and glitter!
Last on the list today is my latest favourite handbag. I have a bit of a problem when it comes to handbags, I can’t get enough of them. This one is the perfect throw everything in holdall. It’s my perfect alternative ‘mum bag’. I am so over nappy bags now that Ivy is nearly out of that phase so I am updating my look and going for something fun but stylish. It’s by Amanda Lamb at QVC and it’s a large leather Star Holdall. I have the Rose Gold/Black option although I think the stars are a bit more silver than rose. I’ve had lots of comments on it already and it’s perfect for bringing in all my bits and bobs to work.
So that’s it from me for now, I am hoping to do a nice round up of the year for my final blog of 2017 so please do pop back soon. If you want to keep up with what I’m up to in between then the best place to find me is on Instagram.
‘Til next time, stay warm!!
