Christmas decorations, pop trivia and Magimix!

Well December is upon us, which means Christmas is now feeling really, really close!

I’ve been clearing a space in the front room for our tree, brought down the box of decorations (much to the joy of my cairn terriers!) and am ready to decorate!

Of course it’s advent calendar time too. When I was a little boy we never had a chocolate advent calendar, I’m not sure if they were around then  – my children will say – “probably not in the olden days Dad!”. Back then they were simply made of card and we’d take turns in opening the door every day to reveal the next picture.

We also had an advent candle too. I love those and my Mum still buys me one every year to burn.

While clearing some space, for the tree, I was sifting through some CDs. I’ve quite a collection, particularly from my radio days. I even came across a CD which Kylie kindly signed for me. Fabulous, it’s now pride of place on my shelf.

I also dusted off one of my finest albums which, for now, shall remain nameless because it reminded me of one of my favourite pop trivia questions. See if you know the answer which I’ll give in next weeks blog.

Of course, leave your guess below in the comments section. Here we go…

Which 1970’s No. 1 hit single didn’t have its track title in its lyrics, but did have the track title of the single that replaced it at No 1. in its lyrics?

It’s a fine question isn’t it? And it stumped me for ages. I think it would be a good question for Pop Master on Radio 2!

I’ve a few days off and really need to finish off some DIY, put up the tree, walk the dogs, eat plenty of food (of course!) and hopefully if the rain holds back I’ll get to play some tennis.

On the subject of food I’m back on air with a fabulous Today’s Special Value this coming Tuesday 2nd December at midnight, when we bring you the Magimix 4200 XL Food Processor with accessories. It’s an amazing appliance and can do so much for you, like slicing, grating, chopping, whisking and blending quickly, easily and quietly. It comes with loads of accessories too, including three different bowl sizes, three blades, five disks, a whisk, recipe books and loads more!

Can’t wait – I’m assured there’ll be plenty for me to eat 🙂

Have a great week and see you soon.

I’m on twitter – it’s a great way to get in touch I’m @mecharliebrook.

Take care

Charlie x
