Christmas is coming and competitions too!

Victoria sponge Cairn dogHello! Another week has passed and with November upon us, Christmas is starting to feel really, really close. I love it!

I mentioned in my last blog how the bamix recipe recently came to the rescue with a delicious Victoria sponge.

Well, it reminded me of one of my favourite photos, which if you missed previously, here it is. One of my two adoring Cairns looking longingly at the cake! At the time I eased her Alison Young in her dressing room at QVCtemptation with a dog chew!

While digging out the photo I came across this one of Alison Young. The picture is a little grainy as she has dimmed the lights in her dressing room while snuggled up under her Slanket watching a movie.

Believe it or not, but yes, this is her dressing room. I have no idea how Alison finds anything… but she does… some how!

I’m really looking forward to being back on air with Charlie Bears. They have a few shows on the way including an hour with me on Tuesday 4th November at 4pm. I’m so excited, it’s been a while since I’ve presented a show.

Charlie bears and Charlie Brooks teddy BarneyIt’s hard to pick a favourite Charlie Bear, they’re all so adorable. However this character steals our hearts at home. Plum Pudding! The bear to the left is from my childhood and is called Barney. He is in desperate need of a clean but we daren’t as he’d probably fall apart – he’s that fragile!

I’m also thrilled to be announcing a Charlie Bears competition in my next blog, where you can be in with a chance to win a signed bear from Charlie and Will along with a Charlie Bear umbrella!

Take care and see you soon.

    Morning Charlie.
Bella is looking forward to you doing some Charlie Bear shows [ as you know he feels it isn’t the same when another presenter does them.]
I guess our Fav: bears must be Simon [ of course], Ragsy, and Bella. I’ll have to take a photo of my 2 REALLY OLD teddies with them. They are both from South Africa and they were given to me at my christening [ when I was 6 month’s old]. A bear called Georgie [ who is VERY thread bare] and an elephant called Hefflump who is stuffed with straw. [ Not a Steiff unfortunately though].
I’ll look forward to the Charlie Bear competition.
I’m also awaiting for the Northern night’s T.S.V [ hoping it’s the new mattress topper].
Love the cake. I must admit I’m still to try and make a cake with my sister’s [ I’ve borrowed it and it MIGHT not be returned].
    Take care.
Love Debby and A BIG Whoof from Bella

    Hi Charlie,
I am sorry to hear about your cake you made and that it was such a disaster, nevermind it happens to all of us some time or another. My dogs can vouch for that, mind you I have seen them bury some of my failures, says a lot that doesnt it , as dogs are known for eating everything. Glad your other cake was a success.
The photo which I have seen before with one of your dogs eying up the sponge is a classic, the expression of her face. M’m I’ll have a bit of that in a minute she is thinking.
Cannot get over the picture of Alison Young’s dressing room, i would have thought she would have been a lot tidier than that.
Oh the Teddies, yes I love the one called Plum Pudding, who wouldn’t such a gorgeous face. Mind you your Teddy Barney is cute, will he be on Antiques Road Show soon.
As for the skating with you and Dale, yes I reckon you should both put in for Dancing on ice if they have it back. In the meantime I should stick to your day job.
    Take Care.
    Love Jean X

    Hi Charlie,
What a shame about the cake after going too so much trouble, it happens to all of us at sometime or another, my dogs are the ones who get my disasters and I have seen them bury it, and that says something as dogs are suppose to eat anything. Never mind your other sponge turned out okay.
Love the photo of your dog at the table, I imagine she is thinking I’ll have a bit of that in a minute if not all if it.
Surprised at Alison Young’s dressing room, thought she would be a lot tidier than that.
Plum Pudding the Charlie Bear he is gorgeous, the expressions these bears have is so real, I love their Bears. Mind you Barney is cute, will we be seeing him on Antigues Roadshow.
With regard to the skating, that was great, and if Dancing on Ice comes back on TV I should definitely sign up.
Take care and enjoy your cooking.
    Love Jean XX

Clog is absolutely adorable. I have been considering a Charlie Bears collection for a while but there are just so many to choose from, I am yet to take the plunge simply because I love them all and don’t want to hurt the feelings of those I do not choose for my first companion bear. However, I think that all changed when I set my eyes on Clog, I think we would be very happy together and the umbrella would keep us both lovely and dry.
