Christmas birthdays and a walk in the woods

Well the Big Day approaches. Yes! It’s my birthday on Christmas Day! I may have mentioned it once or thrice! Actually, it’s not a momentous one – that’s still 4 years away! So the kids are back from uni and Ellie and Toby seem pleased to have their ‘pack’ intact once again.

My Christmas starts like so many of us in a hectic manner. On Christmas Eve morning (once I’ve woken up of course after the launch of our Christmas Eve Today’s Special Value – the H2O 2 in 1 Steam cleaner the night before) I’m driving down to West Sussex to pick up my Mum who’s staying with us over Christmas, then once we’ve arrived back home, my brother (who is in the process of moving to Wales) is popping in to see us all before he heads off in a Westerly direction and over The Severn Bridge. As soon as we bid him a festive “Hwyl fawr” we then have friends coming round later that evening!

Christmas Day itself will be by comparison a much more relaxed day. After enjoying our Christmas lunch, I’m hoping that the weather is kind and we can go for a lovely walk with the dogs afterwards – that’ll be just perfect.

You may have noticed on-air I’ve been wearing Today’s Special Value (Monday 21st) FitBit Charge HR Activity and Sleep Monitor – it’s a really neat bit of kit. The screenshot is genuinely taken from my iPhone whilst at work last week – I don’t know how accurate the data is but it’s amazing to look at the app to monitor how many steps I’ve taken, how many flights of stairs I’ve climbed, my heart rate and how many calories I may have burnt, also it alerts me when someone calls me on my phone and finally can track my hours of sleep, if I wear it through the night! I stuck with the default target of 10,000 steps a day and it’s quite addictive in making sure you beat that target. You can really tailor the app to achieve your goals and concentrate on particular tasks. I was due to be presenting the final airing at 10pm in Christmas Gift Ideas with the lovely Abby Horne but unfortunately it has now sold out! Testament to how popular an item it is! Look out for it coming back in stock soon. At 11pm tonight it’s Azuni London Jewellery – literally last chance for Christmas dispatch.

As I mentioned, I’ll be with cleaning expert Phil Parker at midnight on Wednesday to launch the Christmas Eve Today’s Special Value from H2O. It’s another chance to get the X5 – a 2 in 1 steam mop which is brilliant to help you clean up the house after a busy Christmas and New Year and of course offered at an amazing price. I’ll be back on-air on the 29th at 3pm for a Jewellery Outlet.

This past weekend, my daughter Ali and I went for a woodland walk with Ellie and Toby and she found this log house that needed fixing up a little, the dogs seemed keen to help her out – it’s not great quality but I thought it was fun.

Finally, I’ll leave you with this suitably festive photo and sincerely wish each and every one of you a Christmas to remember for all the right reasons! I hope your loved ones love what you gave them and you love what they gave you! That’s a lot of love! Well it is Christmas after all.

Dale, Ellie and Toby

Until next time, stay well, warm and festive.

You’ve peaked too early as I’ve left my Christmas wishes on your previous blog. All men are the same.

Happy Christmas and Happy Birthday, once again :))

I love the picture of Ted too (that’s code for Toby, Ellie and Dale).

Life’s too short for a FitBit Dale (there’s a joke there somewhere). The other day I saw a lady weighing lettuces in the supermarket and I told her life’s too short too, but in the nicest possible way of course. Just keep your lovely sense of humour Dale and you’ll be fine, no FitBit necessary (I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere!).

    Happy Christmas xx

    Happy Birthday xx
