I’m not happy!

Perhaps you can help me out with a simple math calculation? 12 divided by four equals three… Or am I mistaken? No, I’m pretty certain that’s right. So my question is, where did two out of my three brownies disappear to?!

I ordered a box of Gower Cottage Brownies. They arrived a few days later, beautifully wrapped and just waiting to be devoured. Scrumptious! Well, I’m a family of four (well, make that eight, including hamsters and dogs but they’re not allowed chocolate!) so I calculated that to be three brownies each!

I enjoyed my first with a cup of green tea. It was divine! The flavour lingered, the texture just perfect and the overall experience… brownie heaven!

I returned to the box the very next day…. EMPTY! Interestingly – no one is admitting to the disappearance of my two other Brownies! The investigation is under way… Any suggestions!?

To be fair I’m normally the guilty culprit of consuming the biscuits, chocolate and all things delicious in our home before everyone else. So much so that biscuits are hidden away in the most obscure of places including the back of shelves, behind books and even in the bathroom cupboard and sock draw! I can’t be trusted when biscuits and cakes are around so you’ll appreciate there was little sympathy when I complained at the disappearance of my two remaining allocated brownies!

Worry not, there is a solution. I’ve ordered more! This time I’ve opted for Walnut and I will duly inform my children (prime suspects) they won’t like them (although I’m very confident they’ll adore them – the balance of walnut is just perfect) so I’ll order the original variety next time for them.

I hope to be back on air very soon. Many, many thanks to everyone who has been in touch. I love hearing from you in the comments section below or on Twitter. I’m @mecharliebrook.

I thought I’d round off this week’s blog with a recent snap of one of my Cairns. I love the ‘who me?’ look on her face. I took the photo after a much needed bath! Enough said.

Take care… I’m on the hunt now for chocolate, biscuits and crisps… and planning a perfect hiding place for my Gower Cottage Brownies!!

    Hi Charlie,
Oh that is terrible someone stealing your Chocolate Brownies, I wouldn’t put up with that. When your other supply arrives you will have to lock them away in the shed or eat them all when they arrive. The Phantom Brownie eater. They are really scrumptious aren’t they, that reminds me I must order some more. Hope mine don’t disappear.

My two Labradors (two brothers) are three next week, I remember you got your gorgeous Cairns just before we got them, as yours were three the other day weren’t they.

This has been a bad year as far as my dogs go, have lost three this year, all with Cancer. two Yellow Labs and a Red and White Border Collie who had beautiful blue eyes. I miss them all so much, it is really hard especially Jay the Collie as he was always with me, also had to have one of my Cats put to sleep a couple of weeks ago.

Hope your back is improving, you want to be well for Christmas.

Anyway you take care Charlie and keep a watchful eye on those Brownies.

    Love Jean X

Dear Jean, thanks for getting in touch.

I’ve planned a special Brownie hiding place! I best not say!

I’m so sorry to hear of the difficult year you’ve had. Our dear pets become wonderful companions and soon become very special members of our family. I’m sure you have some wonderful memories and I hope they are of some comfort to you.

Sending all our warmest wishes to you.

    Hi Charlie.
Now Charlie you must have heard of the ” Cookie Monster ” ???? they along with the ” sock monster and the pen monster ” all come out at night. The cookie monster takes all of the cookie’s and makes you blame everyone else , the sock monster takes all the socks [ and makes you blame the washing machine ] and then pen monster makes you think your going mad as there never where you left them.
SERIOUSLY though [ good job your still at home ] you can get a secret stash and hide them before anyone gets home….
Oh dear the look on a certain dog’s face….. looks just like Bella after her dog groomer has just given her a bath.
Take care and hope to see you back soon.
Bella say’s a BIG Whoof ‘S to you and everyone.
    All the best Debby

I’ve been pointed towards QVC for my Artisan Hot Chocolates (also made in Wales!), but I can’t find a buying section for food & drink. Do you have any suggestions of someone I should talk to?

    Thanks 🙂
