Childhood treasures and a Laura Geller offer.

I hope you’ve had a good week so far :- )

I’m sure I’m in the absolute minority but wow, the heat last weekend was way too much for me! My Cairns weren’t fans either so we settled for early morning or evening walks when the weather is a bit cooler. I don’t know why but I’ve never got on with the heat. I love summer and the long balmy days of sunshine but as soon as we head above twenty degrees I start to grumble! Like I say, I know I’m in the minority.

In fact, my Cairns have had a particularly well behaved week. Fate tempted! They have recently got into the habit though of abandoning their own bed and residing on one of ours upstairs for a morning or afternoon nap!

One of the running themes of my recent blogs has been the cupboard under the stairs. Well a few boxes still remain unopened and under the stairs they’ll stay until I get the time and patience to open them. I did however come across this little tin of treasures from more then 30 years ago when I was a little boy.

Charlie Brook tin of memories

Inside among all sorts of bits and pieces I found: Charlie Brown, a little Gnome in a bottle, and the tiny Mole with long arms that went to school with me on a number of occasions!

Charlie Brook children's toys

I also found another photo of me! This time without the ice cream but still plenty of blonde curly hair! I’m not sure when my hair turned so dark? Mid to late teens perhaps and now it’s going grey! Should I dye it? I’ve toyed with the idea before but I don’t think I can be bothered, what do you think? Previously nearly everyone said no, don’t do it!

Charlie Brook as a child

I’ve enjoyed some wonderful shows over the last few days including a spot of beauty. Our beauty Pick of the Month is from Laura Geller and is available with free P&P. The value is incredible and it’s now the range which I often turn to when I go on air.

You can catch a recent presentation here.

Well, I’ve a few days off now and plan to tackle some of the garden as well as head out for some walks and catch up on a spot of Casualty on the iPlayer. It’s my favourite TV show, right now, but I wish they’d bring back Nick Jordan.

Take care, have a great week and I’ll see you soon.

Charlie 🙂

Don’t dye your hair Charlie because once you start you have to carry on, I was in the hairdressers the ather day and someone sitting waiting to get her hair done asked me what dye I used and I said I don’t dye my hair it is my own colour and I am 75 years young so don’t start. You look great. Great and great .

    Morning Charlie.
As you know I LOVE heat [ and no your not in the minority ] most of my friends have been complaining about the heat. Bella loves the sun but not the heat.
DON’T DO IT [ dye your hair that is ]. Grow old disgracefully…..that’s what I say. Mind you I don’t have many grey hairs being blonde [ or not that I’ve noticed ].
Enjoy the time off. I’m sure it’ll cool down yet again.
    Take care.

Hi Charlie I’ve been watching qvc on my hospital TV. I was admitted in June and came out in august. Horrid bone infection. Anyway please don’t dye your hair it will suit you without a dye. Before I go what’s happened to travelon has it left our screens? Love chantel
