Join us as we celebrate the iconic Welsh brand’s 25th anniversary, marked by the launch of their much anticipated Heritage campaign.
Inspired by the Royal and Welsh cultural heritage at the heart of Clogau, the campaign is set against the aristocratic backdrop of Highclere Castle, the home of the current Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, and recognisable to many as the home of award-winning period drama Downtown Abbey.
Family sentiments, majestic filigree and Welsh gold encapsulate the Clogau collection, with each piece featuring a touch of the rare Welsh gold from the Clogau St David’s mine that was closed in the late 1990s, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after golds in the world.
First used by the Royal family in the investiture regalia for Edward, Prince of Wales in 1911 and again in 1969 for Prince Charles, this same rare Welsh gold has also been used to create wedding rings for some members of the Royal Family since 1923, including Queen Elizabeth II and the Duchess of Cambridge, whose wedding rings are both made from pure Welsh gold.
Working on set with stylist Marie Louise von Hasleberg and with couture dresses by bridal dress designer Stephanie Allin and Millinaery from Robyn Coles, elegant and timeless looks were created, with the Clogau finishing touch complementing them to perfection.
Lovely presenter Catherine Huntley went along to the shoot, and we are excited to announce that a new collaboration between the brand and herself is in the pipeline…
“I recently visited Clogau HQ in beautiful Wales along with our gold buyers. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and were treated like royalty by the Clogau family. It was great to discuss future design work with the team and another collaboration with myself and designer Samantha Roberts. We have chosen an enchanting Welsh stone for my next piece. It’s a very special stone to me and the only native stone to Wales which is suited to jewellery design. Lovers of Stonehenge will know it as the Blue Stone; it’s exactly what that great wonder is made of! We’ve started putting our heads together and the result of our work will be coming to air in 2015. I can’t wait!”
Tune in this Friday 14th November at 6pm to see some of the new collection, as well as gorgeous classic favourites such as this 9 carat rose gold and sterling silver band ring with intricate detailing.
