Cats, cleaning and cleansing

Hi all! I hope you’re well & warm this chilly February day.

Lots of you have been asking after my cats and it has been ages since I wrote about them here on my blog. The cats are well and have been doing what they do best – they are experts in the art of sleeping. Hour upon hour of snoozing. Sleeping here, sleeping there, my kitty cats sleep everywhere!

Okay, for fear of plagiarising Dr. Seuss (one of my all-time favourites) I’ll stop there and simply provide you with a couple of rare shots Pixiecat & Popsiecat being awake!

They are adorable. Such sweet little souls. I find them to be very therapeutic on days when life feels a little too much. They should be available on prescription! They do me the power of good.

Popsiecat is such a little character. My kids say she loves me the most as she sometimes follows me around. I call her my dog and even have a little song I made up just for her… maybe some other time I’ll share it with you, haha!

Pixie makes me laugh. She’s always the one to find a comfy spot in a cardboard box, as you can see here.

This pic shows her with her claws stuck in my long suffering furniture. She just sat there for ages looking quite calm and contented!

She even closed her eyes and looked like she was going to have a little sleep! A quick shout of “foodies” soon did the trick. It was as though she hadn’t been stuck at all and was merely hanging out in her own unique style!

IMG_1288 editWe are getting nearer to that spring cleaning time of year. My place is a work in progress due to all the building work, but I am keeping up with day to day cleaning with my S2O multi-purpose cleaner. Have you tried this stuff?? It’s brilliant! I’ve even taken to spraying it around the inside of the toilet bowl, leaving it half an hour and then flushing. It works! Without even scrubbing! Love the S2O range.

Having said that, it’s not for use on our faces! For that we have some great cleansing products at QVC. Whichever skincare cleanser you choose to use we have an offer to help you maximise your results with Magnitone.

Sonic cleansing has been proven and popular for many years now. One thing it hasn’t always been is affordable for everyone. Magnitone are offering us a huge reduction in price compared to shopping through their own website, with this Wednesday’s Today’s Special Value offer.

Magnitone’s BareFaced! is a daily cleansing and toning brush that deep cleanses and can help tone the skin. It not only cleanses and refreshes skin more effectively than hand washing, but can also help to stimulate the skin for a youthful glow.

It’s also the only cleansing brush brand to have the Good Housekeeping Institute Endorsement which was awarded in 2016. That’s not the only accolade they’ve won in recent times; they also won Gold for Best New Electrical Product at the Pure Beauty Awards 2015.

Paul Herrington will be joining me at midnight on Tuesday night to launch the TSV at a price which is almost half what you’d pay direct through Magnitone themselves! Paul has spent many years working as a professional make-up artist for several huge brands, shows and celebrities. He feels discovering Magnitone was a game changer in his business and swears by it. I’m really looking forward to discussing it with him.

Please feel free to get in touch either on here, Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook with your stories and queries. Twitter tends to be the most instant way of keeping in contact but we will keep an eye on all social media as we love hearing from you.

In other news, my Facebook page has been resurrected after six years of inactivity! It’s Catherine Huntley TV. I’m afraid I’m not accepting friend requests to my other account as I keep that solely for keeping up with family & friends. My apologies if you’ve sent a request and not had a reply but there’s too many for me to now reply individually! My Twitter is @TheHuntley and my Instagram is Catherine_Huntley.

Just before I go…I’m also presenting Thursday’s TSV which is from Attitudes by Renee. Sneak a quick peek of it here and I’ll see you soon.

Take care,

    Hi Catherine,
Your Cats are absolutely gorgeous, their colour and such beautiful eyes. You are right they are very therapeutic. I sadly had to have one of my Cat’s put to sleep just before Christmas, he was such a character, miss him so much as he was always asleep in my office in the filing basket, he would be hanging onto the side of a chair like yours, you would go to unhook him, and he would run off. I still have Guinness, who may I add has been asleep on the bed most of the day, that is because clean Cozzee Home sheets have gone on. Just come down now for a cuddle, now on the settee, what a life, but then why not it is his home as well.

I also had to have three of my dogs put to sleep last year as well, they all had Cancer. It was heartbreaking, still is.

Hope your Mum is well, bless her she went through so much, at least you were there for her.

I bet it is nice to be in your new home, I think it is fantastic all the work you have done there. Should have your own D.I.Y shows.

Enjoy those gorgeous pussy cat’s and take care.

    Love Jean XX

I love the S2O cleaner too! We ordered it last time it was on air and I use it for so much – yet we’ve barely made a dent in the first bottle. My husband’s a big fan too. My best result has been removal of beetroot juice from a white tea towel! I do a lot of juicing and it can get a bit messy – this took the stain out at the first try. Worth every penny. Your cats are gorgeous – we have (shhh) six … plus the dogs, whom they keep in order.

Firstly your cats are beautiful Catherine what breed are they? I have two black cats one of unknown background the other a Manx coon who is very fluffy and bigger than small dogs like westies and jack Russell’s but both of them like yours spend around 22 hours a day asleep and the other 2 eating drinking using the litter tray and finally having there funny half hour. Secondly I shall be tuning in tonight at midnight to see what price the new magnitone will be I have the lucid version in hot pink that just cleansing so I’m really excited about one with the ability to tone too!!! Plus to justify buying a new one my old one isn’t charging properly and the warranty has finished so if tonight’s TSV is a great price I’d rather a new one than pay to get the old one fixed have a good day and see you tonight xx

    Hi Catherine
Love the pics of your cats. Being a ‘doggy’ person I was surprised at how lovely your cats are. Soo unual looking. What TPYE/pedigree are they? Soo unusual looking. I’ve always had jack Russell’s dogs as pets. Not got any at mo. They are such characters & live wires. Maybe it’s time for me to change direction.
    Thanks Julie.xxxxx

Thanks for posting pictures of your cats they are so beautiful. I have just got a new cat and her name is also pixie…she is a British shorthair and she follows me around everywhere and really enjoys being with people….but she hasn’t mastered the art of sleeping like your cats but she has a lot of time to master it!!! Looking forward to seeing your house when it is finished.
    Take care

    Hi Lynn,

Nice to hear from you and lovely to hear about your Molly & Maise! It’s really encouraging to hear what a good, ripe old age they are, too. how wonderful you rescued them and gave them a loving home to grow older in happiness.

    Hello dear Jean,

Thanks so much for writing and sharing. I’m so very sorry to hear of all your losses in the last year. How heartbreaking!

What a wonderful mum they all had in you, though. That’s what you must remind yourself of when you miss the fact they’re no longer here. When they were you gave them love and comfort and, when the time came, made the loving decision to let their suffering end. You’re a remarkable lady and thank goodness for people like you.

The home is coming along, thanks. Always the same two words from me “getting there”. One day it’ll all be done but for now we love what we have and are very glad to have a home.

Sending you huge hugs and love,

    Catherine xx

    Hi Hilary,

Really good to hear from you. Love the S20 story! Wow! Beetroot is so hard to get out. Glad you’re loving it. I’m a juicer, too, so will remember that tip!

I know you said shhh but….SIX!! Six cats?? I wish you lived next door to me, I’d pop in to say hi to them! How lovely. I like the way you said they keep the dogs in check, haha! Cats are always the ones in charge, of their owners as well as dogs.

Well, I’ll close by sending tummy rubs and chin tickles to the furry ones and a hug for you,

    Love Catherine xx

    Hi Emily,

Loved hearing about your fur babies! I certainly identified with the funny half hour you referred to. When I left the house this morning my two were running all over the place! Really made me laugh.

Pixie & Popsie are British Shorthairs. They’re the silver tabby variety. I took them from a couple who had them a short time but couldn’t keep them as their existing cat didn’t like them and was terrorising them! They were very timid when I got them. Popsie is still the scaredy cat with strangers but they’ve definitely found their forever home with us.

I hope you’re loving your new magnitone if you went for the TSV? It was a very popular one, that’s for sure!

Bye for now and thanks again for keeping in touch.

    Love Catherine x

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for your message. Nice to hear you were rather taken with the pics of the Huntley felines! They are British Shorthairs. The silver tabby variety. A little of their background is in my reply to Emily, above. They are sweethearts. I know quite a few people who have BSH cats and they all say what a sweet nature they have, very gentle.

They can be quite well built, too, not unlike a small dog! I’ve never had terriers but they make me laugh when they stand up to bigger dogs. They like to show they’re not pushovers from what I’ve seen.

Let me know if you add to your family with a little furry friend. I’d love to hear what you decide.

    Take care,

    Love Catherine xx

    Hi Kylie,

Thank you for writing in and congratulations on your new little Pixie! She sounds so sweet. BSH cats seem to be very gentle and soft natured. So cute that she follows you around!

I wish you could put piccies on here. If you follow me on Twitter @TheHuntley you’ll have to tweet a pic! Or on Instagram I’m Catherine_Huntley or Facebook Catherine Huntley TV.

Enjoy your little bundle of fluff and give her a kiss from me!

    Love Catherine x
