I hope you have all been well. Lots to talk about in this week’s blog, from fashion to Penzance to make-up and a snake print….
In my last blog I mentioned that Elliot and I were off to Penzance for the weekend. We set off nice and early as the drive was nearly SIX hours!! The main reason we headed that way was it was Elliot’s oldest friend Craig’s big birthday. We set off nice and early and a good 35 mins in we stopped for a well-deserved breakfast at a service point haha– no wonder the journey took so long! In fact the mini road trip was lots of fun.
I had never visited Cornwall before and I’m now asking myself why not? It is stunningly beautiful. We had booked a little self-catering place in Ludwig and from our kitchen window you could see St Michael’s Mount which is the island home to a medieval castle that you reach by a causeway when the tide is out. It has a Norman church and sub-tropical gardens.
It was great to be able to walk over there and have known you’ve walked to an Island but had to get back before the tide came in otherwise you’d be stuck there until the next morning! It was like a little adventure especially as it was incredibly windy. For the rest of our stay we took long walks along the beach and ate Cornish pasties which I do love I must admit. However you have to guard them with your life in case the seagulls swoop down and pinch them and some of those birds are huge! We also visited The Minack theatre which dates back to the 1930’s and was hand built by and incredible lady called Rowena Cade. You can see in the photos that it is in fact an open air theatre built on a rocky gully. Minack means stony or rocky place in Cornish. The view is breath-takingly beautiful. Elliot’s friend Craig performs there each summer with his own theatre company called Squashbox Theatre.
The next bit of the blog I am trying to find a seamless link to but moving from an open air theatre and snake print shoes is tricky! So, let’s talk fashion. For those of you who like to keep a finger on the pulse of fashion, have you seen this Helen Berman Snake print mac? And have you seen these new snake print strap sandals from Vionics? These are so stylish and so very comfortable with a padded sole and a heel of just over 3″.
Let’s be honest animal print is never out of fashion but this year the snake print is winding its way to the top place. I love mixing it up with flashes of bright pink or lime as Helene Berman has done with the lining of the mac. With big prints doing the talking with your outfit it means you can take your foot of the gas with make-up (keep it minimal and clean and fresh) unless you want to go all out and then heck go for it! Bareminerals is worth having a look if you like a fresh and pretty look.
Make sure you keep an eye on my Instagram @eilidhnairntv for an upcoming offer from Kim & Co. All I am going to say is two words jump and suit. It’s coming soon and looks amazing! Next week we have some fabulous Big Deals especially if you love shiny sparkly diamonds 341238 this diamond double halo baguette & round cut ring with over £70 discount and one of my favourite lip care brands Gayle Hayman. Who wouldn’t like the sound of a Cinematic Kiss Lip Treatment Collection? (with over £11 off) are just two of our Big Deals. All of these goodies can be found here.
That’s all from me for now. I’ll be on QVC this Thursday and Friday. Have a great week and take care.
