Brrrrrrrrrr, winter really is here!

QVC canteen's burger and friesWow! It's cold outside as I write this! I hope you're well and your January is going well. It's been busy at QVC recently with my new show Destination Gems (we're resting the show on the 22nd of Jan as its Home Day at QVC!)

I spent a few days away last weekend on the Isle of Wight. We took the pups with us – they adore the beach, and were very grateful for their puppy coats as the wind was bitterly cold and bracing.

My favourite kind of weather! I always get a strange look when I say that but I do prefer the chill of winter to the basking heat of the summer (mmmm I sense you maybe giving me that look!)

The main reason for a visit to the Isle was to see Mum and Dad. Dad is in severe pain with his back and has had some really tough days. I think we brightened his weekend, he certainly brightened mine with the most AMAZING fruit salad. He also conjured up a wonderful steak with garlic and onion potatoes! And we were supposed to go down there to look after him!

He's hoping to manage a day trip to visit us and I plan to give him a special guided tour of QVC! I'll be sure to take him to our canteen to experience the burger and fries (pictured above!)

After our journey home it was a spot of DIY as we continue to sort through and rearrange the home and find new homes or charity shops for what we no longer need. Our children have accumulated so many toys over the years which they've now bagged up and passed on.

I didn't plan any New Year's resolutions. I tend not to as I've always said to myself, why wait til the New Year? But if I am to pick a New Year's resolution it's to do a little more DIY… I haven't started yet – wish me luck!

See you soon

Charlie xx

    Morning Charlie.
Do wish your Dad well,my mum has a lot of health problems and you feel so helpless when your parents have health problems. Bella is gradually getting there with her problems. Did you manage to get your mum her pendant ?? I think the web had problems that night as i couldn’t get the one I wanted either.
YES I am giving you THAT look [ to do with the cold] I don’t do winter. I can’t wait for spring to get here–then SUMMER.
Bella and i are really enjoying the gem show’s [ she loved last Tuesday’s I think it was the colour’s]. Can you ask the gem buyer’s to put together a ring with ” kyanite and Rubilite” PLEASE.
Charlie you really must bite the bullet and wear your glasses when you read the messages [ I’ve now got to use glasses], although Bella loves it when you get closer to the screen.
Looking forward to the next gem show.
    Take care.
Debby and a big whoof from Bella.

Hello Debby and a whoof to Bella!
Thanks for your reply. I should take my glasses on set, you’re right. But I’ll lose them and I need them for driving home! I didn’t manage to get the pendant but I believe (well, I’m told!) it’ll be back on air soon. Looking forward to my next gems show and watch out for some rubilite!
    Take care
