Brand focus: SBC

SBC – Simply Beautiful Cosmetics is a salon brand that I have known for the whole of my professional career.

Its ethos has always been value for money, salon-sized products that were the secret of the professional industry and we would use in salon treatments only and not retail.

That is why when I came to QVC at the beginning, this was one of the first brands that I wanted to share with you as a salon secret. For me, what I love about it is the original lightweight gel formulas because firstly, there are many clients that don’t like heavy, greasy oils or rich buttery textures, but no-one will object to the cooling, hydrating gel as a carrier system for the active ingredients.

These serums can be used with a thin layer underneath other products or with a thicker layer as a moisturiser, or for a very intense treatment put several millimetres of thickness onto the skin and leave as a face or body mask.

I have had great results, especially with Collagen Gel on men, improving the look of ageing on their foreheads and eyes. Women with ageing concerns on the face, neck and body, who either sweat a lot or find creams bring them out in spots, have loved the collagen. And the Propolis range for younger, problematic or sensitive skins, especially if you are going through an illness. Of course, the Arnica Gel, which you know I couldn’t live without, needing so much as a horse rider and living on a farm.

Over the years, SBC has developed their range of products as their client base has got older. So, you can now add in to the original gel formula of collagen for example, a hydrogel which is a lightweight serum involving some oil collagen formula, for a richer collagen cream that still has a matte texture, and the Collagen Body Butter for the body. This does allow anyone’s skin needs to be accommodated by using any one of the products separately or layered together but still with the same honest approach that you can still use just one product if you would like.

Not glamorously packaged, they can sometimes be overlooked by the prestige beauty customer. However, it’s worth considering that if you are in an expensive, luxury spa or salon and they were massaging or applying this brand to your face or body that had been dispensed out of these salon sizes and into some expensive jars or spa therapy bowls, and then hand-mixed in front of you, then you would love this bespoke formula.

What you get at home with SBC is that salon size that you don’t often see, and you can mix the different products together to create a bespoke treatment for yourself on a daily basis. For example, did you know that the Arnica Gel is great for puffy eyes or if you suffer from water retention or puffiness of the face, and you can mix it with the Collagen Gel if you are also concerned with ageing.

A final note: as these gels are in clear packaging because they are normally in the cool, dark area of the salon. Don’t keep them in direct sunlight or above radiators.

Fantastic brand, and thank you to Alison Young for bringing one of the industry standard products to QVC. I have been purchasing ths brand from QVC since it aired.
My own family now all use these products daily.
Because: Arnica Bath soak- so soothing and with no oily mess in the bath.
Arnica Gell – what a fantastic cooling gell. Does not stain clothes or bedding. Sinks in within minutes, Or just leave a blob on the sore area, v soothing without applying pressure to the skin.
Collagen Gell- All over body treat for my skin, including face, pply other products over the top for a great treat. I mix with Propolis Gell to skin behaving badly!
I could go on, but i won’t. try it for yourself, you decide.

I have started using the collagen day & night cream and love it. However, I cannot find it on qvc. Is it discontinued and if it is do you do an alternative?
