My book in at No.79! Win the trilogy

Yes, finally my book ‘Take a Chance on Me’ (TACOM) is in the famous high street bookseller, WHSmith – in their travel outlets at stations and airports and it’s gone in the top 100 this week! Since I started writing, it’s been the dream, of course – to take a ‘shelfie’ in a bookshop selling my writing – how proud am I! Supplied by a proper publisher, it means someone else takes care of the small stuff.  Currently it’s best value if you ‘buy one get one half price.’ If you get the chance to go to a local bookshop and ask for it, or find it or order it, do send me a pic, if you get one? Am happy to email you a personalised handwritten signed message you can print out to put inside it, if it’s a gift. Otherwise watch out for signing dates – it may be in a big bookshop near me or in London, in the New Year. (Sign up to my email newsletter  or alternatively ‘like’ my Facebook page for updates. I hope you get to find it before it gets replaced – they have a high turnaround in the lower numbers so fingers crossed you get it before it goes! But at least it was there – and to me that’s what counts. A true TiFFT!

Thanks to my pal Litty for reporting this sighting in Euston station. Do pop along if you’re near!

Litty's tweet

By the way, the sequel is out in the summer. I had a meeting this week at lovely Foxhills Club in Ottershaw to discuss it with my publisher, Choc Lit. My heroine Sadie from TACOM has a sister Helen and the next book will be about her – and her fight to win an online column called *’Try it for the First Time’ club. (Sound familiar?! Lol) so get a TACOM now and be ready to read book two in June. (Originally all from the Hawaiian Trilogy). Find out where to get them on eBook or paperback here on this week’s Read it Write it Sell it blog on my website.

Competition! Or take part in this month’s comp to win not only a signed paperback copy of TACOM but also the prequel and the sequel called Hawaiian Escape and Hawaiian Retreat. These two books will be amalgamated to create the new one. Just leave a comment below to stand a chance to win. Also included will be one of my favourite products, Gatineau’s neck and throat gel, which is still available in a trio for now with 19p P&P. Buy yours whilst the offer is on and leave me a comment below to say ‘enter me’ and maybe if you like, tell me what is the best book you’ve ever read. Read the T&Cs.

Stop press! If you’re a Friday early bird, do join me for my weekly Friday 6pm chat on QVC UK Facebook page – this week it’s all about our Festive Food finale that’s going on till 8pm that night. I’ll chat till I go on air at 7. And a survey about your Christmas meal in your house!

Doggy Update – Lesley Nicol, Downton’s Cook, with another fab prize!

How amazing is this Mega Draw raffle prize? Lovely Lesley is a fellow ambassador for my charity Medical Detection Dogs for whom we are fundraising to try to buy industrial freezers to store samples in for the vital three year study about to begin. She’s got the cast of Downton to sign a Downton Abbey book! It’ll be joined by a silk scarf and become a hoped-for prize I’m sure! All this is to help provide funds for the next round of studies – the research is one part of what MDD do, and the Medical Alert Dogs are the other side, providing fully trained clever canines to help poorly people cope.

Here’s a selection of the latest prizes to be announced – spot your favourite? Enter soon – it’s being drawn on 14th December, the same night we have another super ‘just for fun’ online |Christmas quiz with Patrick Hoy Go here to find out more bout how to buy a ticket for just £5..

Mega Draw

Meet Derek the Medical Alert Pup I Named! And from the Summer fundraiser when I raised enough to name a puppy, lo and behold here comes Derek the little Labrador who will be training to help become an alert dog, helping take care of one lucky owner who will be given him to aid their battle with diabetes, for instance. Soooo sweeeeeet! Hoping to meet him next Friday 11th! More about him on my newsletter from last Friday here – do go read! And sign up for the newsletters if you want to, to be the first to see the exclusive updates I post regularly including big news about my fundraising. Last minute xmas cards on MDD website here btw. I love being part of this and at time of writing nearly £2450 has been raised. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

This week we had a chat about the next Till the Fat Lady Slims 3.0 book online – watch out just before Christmas for a snippet of the new cover! Taken in this lovely Yong Kim dress.

Charlie Bears’ Catch Up Of course lovely Will and Charlie from Charlie Bears were in this week – telling me about their own fundraising for MDD, via little mini-mohair Bones dog which is nearly up to £2000!

Charlie, Will and Debbie

I got this little sweetie – the 2016 Mohair Bear of the Year – watch this clip – this is my ‘look who I’ve found’ for this week:

Get the 2016 Mohair Bear of the Year and also Just Because bear.

Westfield Evening Out with Brad it was time for our annual ‘mum and Bradley’ night when my son and I ‘do Westfield Mall’ too this week – always have such a lovely time with my boy and am very proud of him as ever. After supper we went to see ‘Bridge of Spies’ (which I’ve just realised is a play on the Venetian ‘Bridge of sighs’… doh!) starring Tom Hanks – see below, it was fab. Had a nice lunch with Lauren same day – lovely to see my girl too for lunch same day and have a pogger with the dogs!

Brad and Debbie

Red Carpet Fan Spotted on Instagram! Well done Adele – great choice! Mine are lasting me ages atm as my sis does a super manicure – I often visit her at Westcroft Leisure Centre – Surrey Health Spa, for some fab treatment called IBX ( I think!) Red Carpet Ready is still available on QVC.

 Adele manicure

Facebook Funny – Three Wise Women – only joking – I know some very capable men too…! Lol. AND how bout this – snowman kit! Lol

Facebook funnies

BLOOPER – well it’s a highlight this week – watch this

WATCH  – double whammy this week – Lady in the Van with Maggie Smith

I’ve signed up for ‘Limitless’ which is the Odeon’s free pass system for one monthly fee I can see any film any time for free – whoo hoooo! So this week and last, I saw three! Lol. One was Lady in the Van with the inimitable Maggie Smith who plays an incorrigible real life hobo character living outside Alan Bennet’s house in London – she came for three months and stayed for fifteen years. It’s all character driven as you’d expect with a Bennet production and well worth a watch – if you love Dame Maggie it’s a given. Her performance makes it a nine out of ten. Loved it.

And Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks Well actually I saw it with my son Brad, Tom was unavailable! Hehe! Another superb film – kept my attention from the word go, and all the better for being based on a true story of espionage in the Cold War and one ordinary insurance attorney’s (Hanks’) fight for fairness in a hostage exchange. He’s brilliant in it, he’s definitely grown into these roles with more gravitas, even if his current ‘look’ makes me think of the basketball head character in Castaway…! A Good 8.75 out of ten = high!
