This week’s blog starts with a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you who send us such amazing and heartfelt messages of congratulations on our baby news. We, I speak for Elliot too, were so touched by your positivity and love. I have tried to respond to as many messages as I could but if I haven’t been able to personally then this thank you is for you.
There is a lot I’d like to cover in the blog so I am going to start with a little bump update and then move onto gardening, skincare and round up with a miniature goat!
The weeks are now flying by and I am 22 weeks pregnant already! We have just had our second scan and can report that everything is looking good. We didn’t find out whether it’s a boy or girl and will keep this as a surprise. What I can tell you though is we have one active little nipper! She/he was touching their toes and tapping their head and all sorts which was incredibly exciting to watch. Last week felt like a real whirlwind with releasing the news both in my blog, and then myself and lovely Will Gowing did a Facebook Live too. If you didn’t get a chance to watch and would like hear some extra news on all this then you can watch here.
I feel like since announcing our pregnancy that the bump has really started to want to be seen and be centre stage ha ha here is a back stage pic from a lovely Jolie Moi show I did last Tuesday. This a newer brand to us and I really like the flattering and very accommodating fabric but also the super stylish print. This dress is very similar to this Laura dress and my Weldi Point Booties are from Moda in Pelle.
In the garden:
Last weekend I had the whole weekend off for the Bank Holiday, which was such a treat and as we both love gardening we decided to tackle it this weekend. Which was also great timing for our Busy Lizzie order from the Today’s Special Value that launched on April 22nd which Elliot and his mum ordered. Ours arrived safely and securely boxed and packaged and in perfect time for the Bank Holiday. We potted the plugs in the Incredicompost from Thompson & Morgan and the potted them in our own ceramic pots. Although they did come with their own plastic pots. Here they are.
I also adore Hydrangeas and would like to grow these from Thompson & Morgan.
We are very lucky with this house to have a garden out the back which gets so much sun and the wee one at the front which has poorer grass and foliage so we are trying to make it look a bit prettier. Here I am mowing it (in my Ruth Langsford jumper very glam!) – the Acer has just bloomed with an incredible rich red leaf. It’s really beautiful. I spoke to Richard Jackson on how to encourage plant and flower growth and have just ordered his Flower Power. It’s great that you can use this on flowers, veg and indoor plants too! I shall be sure to share pics in my blogs.
At the moment I am really aware of my skin changing and whilst many people say I am “Glowing“, which is so lovely to hear I am experiencing dryer than normal skin, red dots on my cheeks and the lines around my eyes seem a little more pronounced. I thought if there is one lady to ask then it has to be our dear Ali Young. She is fab and a fountain of skin knowledge. We talked about rehydrating and smoothing texture. I have now bought Sarah Chapman’s Overnight Facial and have been using it all week. Where has this been all my life?! My skin looks more hydrated, more refreshed and smoother. I love it. Sometimes I forget how to apply different products or how often I should use them so I just go back on the QVC website and watch the tutorials again – it’s so simple.
Make-up wise I use a few different beauty brands including It Cosmetics, Tarte, Bareminerals and Doll 10 to mention just a few. I’ve used Doll 10 Gel Concealer for a few years now and find its lightweight texture is great for my eyes especially when they are tired. So I was delighted to see that Doll 10 has brought us a supersize (double the regular size) Hydralux foundation on interest-free instalments of £18.99 with no P&P to pay. It glides on the skin, helps reduce appearance of dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles – fantastic I say. I will keep updates coming on the different brands I try and like.
We always have our Big Deals running each week and to keep in the loop here is the link to check them out.
I’m going to round off this week with a pic of a tiny miniature baby goat taken at a local country fair at the weekend. I fell in love with him and wanted to bring him home to cuddle. Growing up we had two goats called Katy and Milly which we hand reared with bottles when they were young. It’s true to say my maternal instincts have well and truly kicked in.
Please keep your messages coming and I regularly post on my Instagram eilidhnairnTV.
