Black & Decker work

Black & Decker are on QVC for our very special two hour 20th Anniversary show on Sunday 10th Nov! DIY on Sunday started in the very early days of QVC and so now is 20 years old. We have a two hour special with some of the firm favourites and some new stars too.

I got the chance to try out the brilliant Black & Decker multi-tool, which will feature on the show. For those of you who haven’t heard of a multi-tool, it’s the tool you turn to when nothing else will do the job! It cuts, scrapes and sands but the cutting is done by a vibrating blade and it's that feature that makes all the difference.

I had to replace some double glazed units as they had steamed up and needed to rebate the frames to accept a more efficient, deeper sealed unit. A saw couldn’t do the job, a router could but had the potential of making a right ‘ol mess as there was nothing to guide the cuts and the plane old hammer and chisel was not going to leave a great finish. The multi-tool to the rescue!

My son filmed a little video to show the procedure so you get an idea of what I am on about and I can tell you as you read this, I have just finished painting them and they look belting!!

Join us on Sunday November 10th for our 20th Anniversary show.

Marcus did very well but how many attempts did it take you to get it right?

Ah! The video Marcus got right first time……every time!! I, on the other and had to recut two of the windows because I did it wrong the first time! “Dad…. you got it wrong again!!”
