Birthday treats and sore feet – Moonwalk is nigh!

This week –

– Susan Graver gets jiggy – funniest blooper from our fashionista!

– Sneaky peeks for Lola Rose fans

– Julia’s first novel is my book of the week

– And what on earth is a ‘tomtato?’

Back a fortnight nearly, and all’s well! I’m a bit scared though – the Moonwalk is this Saturday and my training hasn’t exactly been stellar. I did do a few hours whilst at the spa at the weekend, where we went for my birthday (some pics below) though – including a long 90 minute walk with virtually no problems. I do have a flat foot on my right and will have to transfer my orthotic insole to that side. Eeek! It’s getting nearer and nearer! Wish me luck! (link to sponsor us is here –  thanks so much if you do!) Results and pics next week!

So, it was my birthday on Sunday hence the spa break and a lovely Sunday lunch at Lauren’s. My daughter and her BF Nick did us proud – son Brad came with his wife Kari too, and Baloo didn’t quite know what to make of it all! Haha! (see pic below.) What a lovely photo of me and my two beautiful children eh? One for the wall for sure! In Lauren’s back garden. Plus, look at this –

Such a funny pic of Baloo, Lauren’s spaniel! What could she be saying, do you think? Definitely needs a caption – such a fab photo bomb, kind of!

Had a fab time at Champneys, I always enjoy it there. Superb reflexology, great food, fab company – my sis Linda and sis in law Boki went with me – and I had some lovely treatments including a new facial courtesy of Elemis. The Biotec facial – using machines – felt great and produced super results. I loved it, and I’m not much of a facial person – I’d always rather have a good firm back massage. Usually. Well worth trying tho, if you get the chance.

Then lunch at Lauren’s was really nice. So lucky mummy, and what a nice 53rd I had! I got a new Q-link necklace (google it – it’s fascinating) as a pressie as well as the spa, and Brad’s taking me to the theatre one night – any ideas what I should see? Any recommendations?

Bierhday Lunch

Me and the kids

Back to You blog – is here if you’d like to read more about Bruce’s bodyblade, Caroline Sandry on why coconut oil is such a superfood, and Tom from Alpha H on how glycolic acid can aid blemished skin . Also on my blog, how junk food kills off the ‘stay-thin’bacteria in the gut. Meanwhile, you can get the superb sugar-alternative coconut oil bundle from Tiana here on QVC.  And as our three-month challenge draws to a close, one lady’s joy at her results. Go here to read it all on my website

JR cover 3Book of the Week – if you haven’t seen it already on her own blog, it’s my mate Julia Roberts  first novel ‘Life’s A Beach’ – what a lovely cover don’t you think? More info about that plus links on where to get it, plus more about self publishing, also a free webinar (on 21st) about how to write a novel using some super tools. Go here to read the new RiWiSi.

Watch – As you may recall, I had a film fest on my ten-hour flight back from China the week before last, so here are the other two films! ‘Cake’ – a heavy topic but with some great acting, as a woman with problems finds solace in the widower of a pal from her support group. Good, and an antidote to her concurrent movie themes in ‘Horrible Bosses,’ so I gave it 8.25 out of ten. Bradley Cooper is amazing though, in ‘American Sniper’ – some graphic scenes covering the true story of the US crack shot credited with saving a record number of soldiers in Iraq. Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle’s pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and turns him into a legend. Back home to his wife and kids after four tours of duty, however, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind. 8.9 out of ten.

Plus must mention brilliant actor Jason Watkins, in the news this week for a more serious role than he’s renowned for – he won Best Actor beating some amazing talent in this week’s BAFTAs. ‘The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies’ may well be worth a watch on catch up. He shone in ‘Trollied’ and ‘W1A’ and now takes his abilities to another level. Haven’t seen it yet, but am going to. If you saw it, let me know below. More here.

Debbie Does Dinner – another week another dinner! This one was looovely! Mind you, I am beginning to branch out and try other recipes which is a triumph for ‘missus can of this, packet of that!’ Long may it continue, but maybe not confined to Hello Fresh (too much with the cheese!)

Debbie does dinner

Tomtato – what kind of creation is this!? I knew they were the same plant family but the same PLANT?! The top half is a tomato the bottom is a potato – bought one to try it – what a TiFFT!* Anyone grown them before?

Sneaky peek – Sunday 24th Fountain – ooo how fab! Another of the Bernini multi function garden fountains – all weather, 3 tier, rechargeable, with lights and remote! Sounds amazing – pic of it in my garden next week…

Shhh! – Thursday 21st features a Carole Hochman Today’s Special Value that ends early – so watch out for some of those old ‘one-show-only’ type offers incl Gatineau at 8pm and Lola Rose at 11pm! And this Monday it’s Bare Minerals as well as Nicky Gewirtz in the hot seat in our web chats on Facebook group ‘Back to You QVC’ (links below) don’t forget!

BLOOPER – OHHHH how funny! And how game is Susan Graver?! She was making like an angel till it all went so wrong… haha!

Facebook Funny – bikini body – ohhh yes! This is the way to do it, never mind that ad that got banned. Mind you if they’d just used someone a bit more curvy it probably wouldn’t have created the uproar, do you agree?

Next week – Crimefest! Am off to a writing festival in Bristol this weekend – will report back next Friday! And taking mummy to a concert to meet one of her teenage idols. And of course – the Moonwalk! It’s this Saturday! Wish me luck. Have a great weekend!

Hi Debs. If you haven’t seen the play War Horse, it’s a must see. It’s more an experience than a play. Best show around imo

Hi Debbie, glad your back, missed you.
Enjoy all your blogs and tips. However
I cannot view your videos – the word
Grabygo is something I’m not sure of
as I do not generally do video share etc
I just want to catch QVC “bloopers!
What do I have to do – cannot afford to
join something which will cost me money.

Have had my eye on WarHorse for ages tbh, and not managed to get along – I avoided the film so I can watch the pay – will put it back on the list for maybe later this year!
    Thanks for the recommendation!

    Hester –
awww thank you for following our progress on the Moonwalk via Twitter! It was lovely to post those landmarks in the background of each of the selfies as we went round the 26 mile course and i’m so glad three of us managed to stay on till 18 miles before we had to stop (i hurt my ankle, Kathy Tayler was exhausted and Ali K had awful blisters!) and the other four made it to the end! Glad i did it but would think twice about a full one next time! lol! Maybe the half! x

    Deb B –
You little star you! Glad your 50th was memorable – if we can’t do it then, when can we?! Lol! So happy Freedom Eating and TTFLS has changed your life – you and so many others, including me! It’s amazing when I go back to full Freedom eating the weight starts to come off so easily it’s like I’m cheating somehow – it’s just getting off those easy-to-fall-into bad habits, right? Then Freedom Eating is like welcoming back an old friend! Big hugs, cover star!
