Behind the scenes fun, split lives, and upcoming op…

2

What fun we had last week – including behind the scenes, with the amazing lady who is Laura Geller. See below for what happened. Plus this week – news of an upcoming operation – I become the latest presenter to fall foul of a needed health tweak. And giving a talk to the WI on an unusual topic.

Elemis First – a reminder that this Sunday it’s the annual beauty-fest Elemis-style – with the massive Christmas Today’s Special Value. What impresses me most about this is the fact that it includes the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, but also a half size of the famous Oxygenating Night Cream! I love my targeting treatments, but I have to say that these two come right at the top of the list when it comes to all-rounders. Plus the usual huge value bodycare bundle to make this an irresistible offer for anyone with a penchant for bargains and powerful skincare.

In two choices, this gives that feel good factor and giftability (if it’s not a word it should be!) so go here to get yours ahead of my pre-launch special on Saturday night at 10pm – more or less the only time we do this every year – an early glimpse of the famous brand’s biggest deal of the festive season. Don’t miss it!

This weekend’s highlights:

Friday (today) has a first – a biker jacket from Kim & Co! Its in a pleather mock croc fabric and looks very rock chick chic! See it here.

Saturday I’m launching on Friday at midnight, this superb value Shark Duoclean cordless vac with accessories.

Big deals

These great offers only last a week and are shown on our sister channels – but don’t delay, the offers end at midnight on Sunday 13th November. There is a four-piece No Make-Up Make-uup Collection from Perricone, a pair of suede and snake-effect ankle boots from Moda in Pelle with a metal trim, or there’s a luxurious mattress topper from Magniflex. Go here to see and buy them all!

See below for next week’s deals and sneaky peeks!

Family Fun Down in Devon

Had a lovely week hosting both mum and her partner, as well as Lauren, Nick and little baby Phoebe. The rains poured, the mishaps occurred, the homecooked meals were eaten – we all took turns – and several games of scrabble were played. Nick kindly did some more renovations for me and Lolly and I spent time with ‘nana’ – my mum – who is now called ‘Gran-nan’. Funny! I’m Nanny Debbie of course, or whatever the kids decide to call me when they’re older. Phoebe is very good and is obeying (mostly) her timed routine. It has worked very well for most of the other new parents amongst Lauren’s cousins, and for my son Brad with little Blake Katherine. So Nick and Lolly are doing the same with bubba Pheebs. She’s even smiling a little now – so beautiful, and her hair is a gorgeous shade of golden auburn sand – very similar to one of my (dyed) shades, I’m told! It was so nice to have several holds and cuddles every day – and that was just with Lauren. I already miss them.

I’m having a knee op towards the end of the month so maybe I’ll be able to fit in one more trip to Wales but otherwise it’ll be early December before I see them again. Distance is a challenge sometimes – but it does lead to some interesting topics for talks at the WI – and plentiful hours in the car during which I can listen to my wonderful audiobooks!

SNIPPETS

Laura Geller and Gang

She came across with her Geller gang – one of the biggest we have! – and brought us not only an amazing offer makeup set but also such good advice and common sense tips from one of the best in the business – and more importantly, one of us. Go here to shop her range on our website some deals not in the shops!

Split Lives WI talk

I was flattered to be asked to do another talk at one of the local WI’s this week – on the topic of split lives. Lovely Anne Goodspeed asked me to do it, knowing it would be about spending half my life in London and half in Devon. But what came out was a whole host of other confessions. I really hadn’t intended to go into detail about my year being treated for depression or quite how much of an introvert I am naturally – and lots more! I write about it on my latest blog on my home page on my website. But I’m glad I did, so many nice comments afterwards and a couple of ladies who wanted to compare notes on their own lives. Makes me feel good doing stuff to give back to the community and I hope to do more of them. I’m getting a bit less nervous doing them now! Good practise for the next concert Barry Parsons (the singing Devon councillor!) and I are doing in December.

Happy Birthday Evie and Mum!

November is a busy birthday month for us and we all trekked over to Kent to see little four year old niece Evie and also celebrated mum’s 75th too. Love my family! We also took a lovely family shot of me, mum, Lolly and her little Phoebe all together, when they were down at mine – out of 28 descendants, this is the only girl-girl-girl-girl line up – at present anyway, till one of my sister Linda’s two girls have daughters!

Lip Lift Leopard

Product of the week for me has got to be this one – my top beauty product I’ve ever bought from QVC – Lip Lift! In its latest incarnation it will soon be available in a duo with limited edition casing. I can’t do without this little wonder – I have them all over the place and never want to run out ‘cos nothing moisturises my lips quite like this does. It’s no ordinary balm for sure. See it in all its forms on our website here too.

Book of the Week

So glad it’s finally out! The Book of the week reviewed this week on my website book blog is hot off the press – Past Tense – Lee Child’s latest outing for the god that is Jack Reacher – number 23 in his series of adventures. I’m so loving spending time in my car listening to the stellar narration from Jeff Harding – one of my top Reacher voices. And Lee Child does it again with this latest tale, IMO. But then he always does. Reacher revisits an aspect of his past, but all is not how it should be… Also got Ali Keenan’s book too – it arrived in the post this week. Very happy bunny!

Watch

Another one I cannot wait for in the cinema – they’re stacking up! Not only The Grinch, but also one I loved when it was a book, then a smash hit TV series in the UK in the 80s, and now a huge film – Widows – based on Lynda La Plante’s novel. Four widows recreate the plans for their deceased husbands’ heist – by pretending to be them. Remember this? It was riveting! Well now it’s on the big screen and set in America – can’t wait to see it!

Next week on QVC

Apart from all the above, look out for…

MondayCozee Home month continues with a set of two faux mink throws – they’ll fly since they are so fabulous for Christmas gifts – and don’t forget to keep posting your pics of yours using the hashtag #mycozeehome!

Tuesday – as you may have heard Alexis say recently, L’Occitane return with a wonderful six-piece collection, again on maximum interest-free instalments, superb for pressies – and it’s on early bird link so start looking from the weekend!

Wednesday – the lovely Amanda Holden is back with her BundleBerry range, featuring the Firework Lightbulb with Tripod Lamp – there’s an unusual gift for someone who loves contemporary designs!

Thursday – And an early sell out is predicted by my wonderful mate Craigy of Thursday’s Hotel Chocolat set of two luxury selections.

Friday – OMG OMG it’s here! The annual Yankee Candles extravaganza! Your choice of fragrance and enormous massive mahussive value! With a long, long shelf life, I’d stock up using this offer, with your top fragrances as they don’t come much better than this. You get a choice of EIGHT fragrances.

  • All is Bright
  • Black Cherry
  • Black Coconut
  • Christmas Eve (my fave)
  • Lemon Lavender
  • Midnight Jasmine
  • Peony
  • Perfect Tree – wow – so good if you get a fake tree!

Two large jars, two medium jars and one small jar – all with their own gift boxes – and just wait till you see the price! Join me Thursday night on 15th midnight for the launch – can’t wait!

Next week on the blog

It’s Remembrance Sunday this weekend and next week I’ll be reporting back on going to see the marvellous sold out ‘Lest we Forget’ production in Holsworthy, courtesy of my lovely pal Sheila who is playing the piano for it, including some super songs with relevant connotations. And more family fun.

Best wishes

Debs

    Hi Debbie,
Hope all goes well with your op. I know a few people who have had that op with success! Which is good!
Lovely photo of phoebe’s hair colour. Gorgeous. Glad she’s fairly good. Makes a massive difference! You’re very lucky to have them not too far away. Try a significant flight away! It’s so hard! Still as long as family are happy. Take care of the knee x
