You might notice in the future that between 6am and 7am we will be featuring some slightly different ways of showing you some products on QVC rather than a repeated show. These are proving to be ever so fun to film and lucky me got the “long” straw (is there such a phrase?) and was sent off to Brands Hatch to make some footage for one of my favourite QVC products, Showroom Shine.
We were up bright and early on this very chilly morning as we had to be ready and on the track by 7am to film the introductory session ahead of when the racing began. Ignoring the chill and the wind in our faces, it was really lovely to be out early morning to watch the sun rise. Once the day got going, hearing the racing cars rage their engines was just fantastic! My Grandmother was a racing driver in the ‘40s, she used to race at Brooklands in Surrey and I think was one of the first women drivers. My older brother has carried on the family tradition and so it’s something that I’ve been around all my life and always excites me, even though on this occasion we were talking about cleaning!
The rest of the day was spent set up in our pit garage with the wind whistling through front to back. I was plying the team with various jackets from the back of my car which were wrapped around anything cold… knees, feet, fingers… the lot! Funnily enough, as I write this, I have the news on in the background saying that 2016 has been the hottest year since records began… well not on this day!
Here’s a short preview of what we filmed:
Whilst it was actually designed for cleaning vehicles, I use it all over the house. Just yesterday I used it to clean the chalk pen lists and messages off the French windows in the kitchen (we write on them as they aren’t as easy to misplace as a piece of paper!) It’s super fast and works a treat on anything shiny so I use it on windows, the fridge and oven doors, mirrors, glossy furniture, any other glass, etc etc.
I know we are doing a lot of talk about Christmas at the moment, but as we all well know, the cleaning continues and Showroom Shine is one product that I honestly wouldn’t be without, inside OR outside the home!
I hope you are keeping warm and beginning to get your head around Christmas preparations. My next blog will be about exactly that… so I had better start preparing!!!
Much love as always
