Beauty Secret: bareMinerals Original Foundation

BareMinerals Deluxe Original SPF 15 Foundation - 203055So many of you have expressed your concern about sensitive, high coloured, irritated , or reactive skin – perhaps due to medication, allergies or illness (including serious illness) or spotty and breakout skin. At these times you are often, and quite rightly so, looking at your facial skincare routine for solutions but so many times, you have forgotten about the ingredients in your make-up.

The reason that I mention this is that if your skin is sensitive and irritated you would often be saying to me ‘I can’t wear make-up’ or if you were spotty and suffering with breakouts, that you are ‘wearing so much make-up to cover up that it is causing more spots’.

BareMinerals FoundationWith so many make-up brands and formulas available, you have often forgotten about the ground breaking excellence of the ‘bareMinerals Original Foundation’. This foundation is made up of natural mineral pigments with no fillers, binders, preservatives or colours.

The ingredients that it doesn't contain are often what causes sensitivity, spots, reactions etc. and indeed, this is the only foundation that can be applied directly to high coloured or sensitive skin, and after facials and skin procedures without causing skin irritation.

The gentle but physical coverage of this make-up offers protection from the elements which helps to calm down the look of spotty skin or skin with severe breakouts, with one of the minerals being Zinc. In my experience, and from clients that I have known, you are able to wear this make-up and get the coverage but not get further breakouts.

When using this make-up, don’t forget to keep the brush clean and wash at least once a week with either shampoo or face wash (as you know you are not allergic to these), dry in a towel and leave standing upright drying in a warm place like an airing cupboard, or blast with your hairdryer. You know when the brush needs cleaning if, on application, the brush feels stabby or you’re getting very small bumps or spots underneath the skin as these are caused by a dirty brush.

Hi Alison , I have been using bare minerals for years and recently converted my daughter to the range, she gets married in four weeks. Do you think bare minerals is good bridal makeup ? , we are worried about any flashback on photos and video, is it ok to use any radiance or mineral veil ? Thanks in anticipation Gill Lockwood

I love bare minerals foundation, and would like to ask if QVC have considered stocking the ‘fairly medium’ shade in the future as this one seems to be my best shade match?

    Dear Ali,
I use bare minerals (medium) but I find when I start to get warm or hot I get a red patch across my nose and under my eyes and its not enough coverage. I wondered about getting the Laura Geller brighten n lighten to try. I don’t wear make up really so the bare minerals I thought was great and it is if I don’t get warm.
    Please help
