The Beauty Insider Blog: Becca primers, The Hero Project launches and It Cosmetics favourites

It’s nearly the end of August – I can’t believe how fast time has flown by! Autumn is only around the corner, and as we look forward to brand new September launches and offers, I just want to remind you that you can still get our Product of the Month and Supersize of the Month – but only until Thursday evening! Just click here and here for everything you need to know…

The perfect base with Becca

On tonight’s show we have the fabulous Backlight Priming Filter, which offers gorgeous champagne tones and flecks of subtle sheen and shimmer – a must-have for brides, high-definition photography and anyone who loves a natural, juicy glow without overloading on sparkle. I love this under liquid foundation, or added to concealer for a lighter effect. You could even wear it alone on holiday, as the champagne and pearl tones seriously complement a tan!

If you prefer minimal sheen and more of a skincare-make-up hybrid, then First Light Priming Filter might be a little more up your street. It works to give a bright, fresh look that also helps to counteract the look of tiredness on your skin. Using it every day you’ll notice your skin base looks less dull and more rested. It contains hyaluronic acid and anti-oxidants, which further builds on your makeup regime for products that care for your skin – and it makes your foundation go on smoother too! It’s still a primer, but a primer with benefits.

The Beauty Excellence Awards have arrived!

Tomorrow evening is a huge night in the beauty calendar at QVC, but I just wanted to touch on a really innovative brand who are nominated in the Best New Brand category. Cailyn have a fantastic range, including their Fluid Touch BB Cream Foundation, which has a lovely fluid formula and a click compact that allows you to carry and dispense liquid on the go. It’s really great for travel and gives a lovely sumptuous look to your skin. If your skin has dried out during the summer, it’s great for adding hydration, plus the brand is very cool indeed. You can see all the nominees here.

A premier hour for The Hero Project

I’m so excited for this show on Friday, as it will feature the fantastic Resurfizz Enzyme Peel Collection.

This complete at-home exfoliation system has been designed to help unclog pores, satisfyingly peel and smooth the look of your skin, and it’s the perfect start for when you’re going out on the town. The kit has everything: a warming cleanser, individual fizzing masks and all the tools you need too. You’ll really look forward to using this, as it’s a complete kit – and the packaging will look fantastic in your bathroom cabinet.

Have you discovered these It Cosmetics beauty gems?

Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Make-up Melting Balm

This follows on from the fabulous Confidence in a Cream moisturiser. It’s a fabulous does-it-all cleanser with a gorgeous texture, which works to remove even heavy eye make-up.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness with Brush & Stand

A fantastic product if you suffer from rosacea and discolouration, this has been specifically designed for sensitive skin. I always get asked about how to deal with these issues, and this is the product I recommend. It gives great coverage, has a mousse texture and dries to a matte finish. It also works really well as a nude eyeshadow too, and is a great base for bold liquid liner or lashings of fluttery mascara.

It Cosmetics Hello Light Creme Illuminator with Brush

Because it’s so smooth it doesn’t look grainy at all, making it fantastic for sensitive or mature skin. Pat it on last on top of make-up. It looks very sophisticated and expensive on your skin, and it brings your entire look together. It’s in my daily make-up kit for on-air appearances, and makes skin look really juicy and fresh-faced. Also, it lasts for ages!

A sneak peek at our September offers…

I won’t give too much away, but I will reveal that our Product of the Month is perfect if you’re looking for a Hairfix, and our Supersize of the Month features an iconic cleanser from one of our heritage brands here at QVC. Can you guess what they are?

Remember to check out QVC’s Facebook page and my Facebook page, and you can also send me your questions on Instagram and Twitter! Let me know in the comments if you’ve discovered The Beauty Stash too.

There’s plenty more beauty goodness to be found at 8pm this evening, so make sure you tune into QVC Live to enjoy a show jam-packed with the best products, experts and brands.
