Hello and thanks for taking a few minutes out of your time to read my blog this week. You have certainly picked a good week to read as I’m running a competition! It’s a chance to win a deliciously decadent set from Philosophy. I’ll let you know exactly how later in the blog.
I’d also like to share with you what else has been happening this month. We took some time out to go to the New Forest and celebrate my birthday! Elliot had booked a fantastic little apartment nestled in beautiful lush green ground which overlooking The Solent. Here’s a photo of the view.
I love this part of England and feel at home here, maybe that’s also as there are so many wild New Forest and even some Shetland ponies too.
While we were there we wrapped up warm and went for long walks in the Forest and took little picnics with us. Here we are with rather frozen smiles as it was pretty chilly but we had made that picnic so we were determined to eat it out side. It took about three minutes and we were off again! We also found this neatly made little hut. I though it looked very mysterious especially with the skull nearby…who builds these and does anyone camp out in them…?
Elliot really treated me and took me to one of our favourite places called The Pig. The food is all locally sourced and the hotel and restaurant is so beautifully decorated in the style of an old huntsman lodge with big log fires and old antiques dotted around. We ate the most delicious light risotto with goat’s cheese and saffron, followed by pheasant on a bed of lentils and something else I can’t remember… sorry. For desert I had rich chocolate tart with salted honeycomb ice cream and Elliot had good old sticky toffee and date pudding with cream. I am still not drinking alcohol so I had lime and soda to go with everything. It was a really special evening.
It is now that part of my blog when I like to share some fashion ideas with you. This week however is a little different as I’m a running a competition in conjunction with our Beauty Supersize of the Month from Philosophy, the 1893ml of the Purity Cleanser.
This cleanser is a three in one, it works to gently cleanse and melt away face and eye make-up in one simple step, while also toning and lightly hydrating. Can also be used on the body for an indulgent bath or shower and is infused with carrot seed oil, meadow foam seed oil and rosewood oil.
The competition prize is also from Philosophy and it is this very one.
What is it? A set of Philosophy treats from their Pure Grace collection. This collection captures the essence of fresh and clean with memories of crisp cotton on a cold winters night. The set we have put together includes 480ml body cream, 946ml shampoo, shower & bath cream and bottle of eau de parfum. All to the value of £70!
It’s open to everyone and really easy to join in. Simply answer the following question:
What is this week’s QVC Style Big Deal?
Little clue, the answer is in my blog. Put your answers in the comment box at the bottom of my blog before midday on Monday 25th February and the winner will be selected at random and informed by email, and on the same day I will also read out the lucky winners name in my 6pm show on the main channel. Good luck! See full T&Cs here.
Before I finish up I want to share with you one of my new favourite garments from Helen Berman.
I love animal print and this time Helen has designed this stunning long pleated skirt with an elasticated waistband. This look works on so many levels. Simply add a big chunky knit and some boots from Emu and it’s a perfect casual look. Alternatively put on an ankle boot with a contrast texture like these leather reptile boots from Peter Kaiser you could simple add a black viscose T-shirt from H by Halston.
I’m sure you’re keen to know what the Style Big Deal is this week – wink, wink! It’s a dolman-sleeved jumpsuit with tie belt from Nina Leonard and comes in spot, floral and geometric prints or plain black in regular and petite sizes. I think it’s a spring collection wardrobe essential. For a regular look at all our Big Deals just click the link here, every Monday.
I hope you all have a brilliant week and good luck with that competition.
