Oh my word! I was so not prepared for the emotional roller coaster I felt as my niece Louise gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last week. Little Joshua made his appearance a tad early on the 3rd July, disrupting all the best laid plans that we had in place to cover the happy occasion.
However all is forgiven, as this little one has truly tugged at my heart strings. I cannot begin to describe how I felt meeting him for the first time. This was totally not on the cards.
Of course I did expect to fall in love with him (after all, who can resist a newborn baby?), but this was something else and I have no explanation. I have probably become an utter bore to every poor unsuspecting individual who has the misfortune to spend more than 30 seconds in my company!
I will save you all the intricate details of how he is perfection personified and has a character to match (even though this judgement was made by my good self within the first few moments of his life, I do feel led to tell you that it is utterly accurate and completely unbiased!)! Check out the photos!
Little Sophie is going to be the perfect big sister, however apparently she asked her mum the other day when he’ll be going back to the hospital!
Anyway, massive congratulations to them. What a lovely little family! I have a feeling that Nottingham will have to feature a lot more often on my radar. Not always easy with my mad busy life, but this is an absolute must!
I was in tears handing him back to his mum last Friday, but she assured me she was going to tune in to my two hour gardening show Saturday morning with Richard Jackson. That way he can hear my voice and hopefully not become too estranged from me upon my departure. (Not 100% convinced that me talking about hydrangeas would have been quite what he was used to experiencing at 1 o’clock in the morning lol!)
Well folks, we have reached full blown summer, although weather-wise it doesn’t always look that way. Hopefully you are enjoying the wide selection of shows we are bringing you.
I did a Benefit show recently with the lovely Lisa Potter-Dixon and she is kindly sharing a load of hints and tips with us on getting some great looks. Check it out here!
I’m writing this blog from an Italian beach in baking 34 degree sunshine (please… no sympathy!), but I will back on your screens next weekend.
Looking forward to working with the effervescent Mally again next Saturday 23rd July at 6pm, followed by some fabulous Lola Rose jewellery at 8pm and accessories and Attitudes by Renee fashion at 9pm – that should be a fairly lively day!
Take care you lovely lot and catch up soon!
