I had the half term off and went in search of sunshine. We went a bit off piste as we decided to visit Kuwait and we discovered that not many people do!
The weather was fine and we spent most of the time by the pool, one of which was heated to 28C. In the first four days of our stay there wasn’t a single person poolside, bar us. The staff at the hotel were a bit puzzled as to why we had booked a stay of a week without any business as they don’t seem to get people going there on holiday.
But it had the same sun and sea as Dubai but just a lot less expensive. The kids were happy as there were tennis courts and gyms and pools to play, in and we were spoilt for choice when it came to food as there was a great food court next door with lovely welcoming people all around. I even managed to swim quite a bit in the ocean. It was coldish as it was only about 16C but I had taken my wet suit so was quite comfy.
We stayed safe in the sun with our Ultrasun all day protection and recharged the batteries a bit before heading home on the shortish flight (only 5.5 hours). A lot of people were surprised to hear I was heading to Kuwait, but I’d recommend it if you fancy a shortish flight and great food with nice weather in the UK winter. The only thing you have to remember is there is strictly (and I do mean strictly) no alcohol is allowed anywhere! So the holiday was a rest AND a detox!
Back to work again!
