I’ve got another hair appointment booked for 31st of October, I really want to change my hairstyle but I’m scared, scared it will go wrong, won’t suit me, scared I’ll have a frightening haircut by the time the sunsets on Halloween. The problem is and I’ve said it before, I wasn’t blessed in the hair department, my hair is thin but at least thankfully I have lots of it. It’s naturally blonde and therefore quite porous, so tends to break easily and damage quickly with heated hair appliances.
I’m doing my best with it though, I’m throwing everything and the kitchen sink at trying to improve matters with my fairly useless barnet. It doesn’t do much you see. It won’t hold a style, it’s stubborn and won’t listen no matter what lovely products or equipment I throw at it. I’ve even tried singing to it like it were a plant trying to grow, nothing works so I’ve decided the best thing I can do for my hair is be kind to it, it works for people so why not hair.
As part of my Kindness Strategy I use the Dyson Supersonic, which I’ve got to say is amazing, it’s like no other hairdryer and the condition of my hair has improved because of it. Drying at a lower temperature definitely helps.
My current shampoo and conditioner that I keep re-ordering every time is the Tweak’d Rise & Shine Rhassoul Volumising range, it seems to give my hair a bit of oomph and a bit of texture, Tweak’d really seems to suit my hair type. The brand is still only on QVC in the UK and they have a Today’s Special Value coming up on Tuesday (30th of October), which will contain the brand new Tawira Rejuvenating Treatment Oil I’ve been trying.
The oil is made from an exotic blend of wild-crafted and natural ingredients, rare sacred oils and butters from around the world, including Tawira palm oil from Central America, shea butter from Africa and dhatelo seed oil from Nepal. It can be used on all hair types, especially dry as it gives added hydration. I’ve been using it as an overnight treatment to help repair my hair and itchy scalp. It melts between the hands in seconds and you can use it from root to tip. In the morning I wash it out with Tweak’d Dhatelo Shampoo and Condition (also in the TSV) as normal. I’ve used this twice so far and my hair looks and feels so good.
In my camp we’ve been making the most of the good autumn weather while it lasts, lovely long walks, strolls in the park and alfresco dining in the streets where possible. I’m spending as much time outdoors with Ted as I can because we love it. Here’s us the other day on the river bank, loving a chunky scarf and a knit.
Even though the clocks change and the days are short we can substitute those sunny days with some fun in our style. This is a great time of year for fashion, little boots, scarves and jackets, I just love autumn/winter fashion because you can have fun. I’ve got to say QVC are nailing it in the shoe department at the moment and footwear is enough to make the most mundane outfit stand out. Find some boots to make your clothes pop, throw in a brighter colour and do it in style. I’m loving this Bronx Studded Chelsea Boot in the winter yellow.
As well as the Bronx Western Suede Ankle Boot in the red, Moda in Pelle Laurista Ankle Boot in black animal (which I’ve got) and the green suede Peter Kaiser Camilla Sock Ankle Boot. If you’re after a big saving try a pair of Lace-up Flatform Shoes from Spanish brand Manas, these are fab with colour and animal.
And I finally got around to sowing Richard Jackson’s Grass Seed to mine lawn, I’m watering it every day, so I can’t wait to reap what I sow and see those green shoots popping through!
